Having had a small engine scooter, 125cc (apart from that it was so slow no-one wanted to sit behind it, even when there was no room to overtake) and then then stuck a tuning kit on it I still found it too slow and once I'd wound it up to speed I was reluctant to ease off for anything. So between the dickheads that overtook where there was no room, or saw a scooter and thought slowmobile and pulled out in front of me causing me to come off and me barreling into roundabouts at frankly stupid speeds and coming off my shiny Vespa did not stay shiny long In hindsight it's probably best that it got stolen before I broke my neck on it. Car wise, umm, mixed. Learned to drive at 19 and did all the reckless 19 yr old boy racer stuff and because of that have aquired a decent ability to handle a car at speed (if I do say so myself) only ever one accident at speed and that's because I misjudged what someone else was going to do. Low speed, now that's a different matter. I've even managed to crash into buildings! Lorries - see cars - low speed... Nowadays I stick to a bicycle and have managed to injure myself plenty on that. If you see someone old enough to know better flying across junctions no-handed wearing a personal stereo it might be me... It's the only time I truly feel awake. Since it was pointed out to me that that sort of a thing is symptomatic I've tried to calm it... tried...

My son who is 23 was diagnosed when at school with DAMP. Deficit inattention motor control and perception. This is because he didnt fall into just the adhd diagnosis. He used tk take conerta xl but when he left school and went to college he felt he no longer needed the medication. Over the past couple of years he has struggled with staying on task at work, with motivation and sometimes with anger. Today we finally Saw the consultant who suggested he start to take medication again. Since the age of 17 he has driven a car successfully without any problems. Today the consultant said you are to tell DVLA about the ADHD. On the dvla website it says only to tell them if you feel the ADHD affects your driving. His adhd doesnt affect hos driving at all and further more we have no documentation diagnosing him with ADHD as his original paperwork says D. A.M. P. My question is should we really inform them? Will they take his licence off him?

Oh really? Oh crap. I drive a sports car and I have lots of speeding fines. Maybe time to get the push bike out again.
