I saw the ad but am scared to watch case I get too upset/pd off and rant for hrs
Its kind of triggering w everything I'm worrying about with my pair (smone pks tell me fouryrold is the hardest age....) So if the program turns out to be watchable ud love to know. I don't want my kids future teachers watching stuff that makes them think ADHD is made up : '(

Thanks, apreon. I've belatedly changed it. Bee, we all have our moments when we do helpful things helpfully, and others when we half-do them or (I frequently) don't get round to doing them at all!

So watched this after a friend reassuring me its not that bad, first one won't help stereo types with ADHD, but CD for ASD I guess and that part was intrssting. It did drive me crazy that they kept on saying kids with ADHD had to display ADHD symptoms in all areas (firstly they were actually meaning within all relationships- as kid was perfect for Nana) but have they never heard of hyper focus?

I'm holding off judgement on this programme until I've seen more of it.
In general, the term 'childhood, behavioural disorder' when used to describe ADHD makes me bristle. Sometimes the representation then focuses entirely on naughtiness and how the condition affects everybody apart from the person who has the condition. It needs to represent the effect on everyone in the family, including the person who has ADHD.
If everybody really understood ADHD, then so many more people would a) recognise their symptoms and have the opportunity to seek a diagnosis b) would feel more comfortable seeking support from family, colleagues, friends etc.
It would be good to see a wider representation of people who have ADHD in drama, soap operas etc.
