Not bored with specific individual tasks but bored with everything!! My life in general is boring me and its getting me down. Id love to go out and do more stuff but i just dont have the cash. And i cant even change jobs or anything
I dunno i guess this is more of a rant i just need a bit of help as i feel like im becoming a little destructive.
Any advice on this? Does anyone else ever feel this way?

I don't have any advice, but I do know how you feel. Sometimes I have episodes where I'll feel bored with life, and I too don't have enough money to do the things I feel will help. I get bored with the direction I'm going, I get bored with the same food I eat everyday, I get bored with current projects, I get bored looking at the same scenery everyday. And then this spans out into other things like even the way I eat food! Food goes in mouth, chew it for a bit, swallow and repeat... I'm bored of this process??? Why can't we invent some super alien freaky way of consuming food through another method? Lol and I get bored with sleeping. I love sleeping, one of my favourite pastimes but I get bored with the positions while sleeping. I've done it all, both sides, front and back. So sometimes I'll try sleep wi my ass in bed and my head on the floor - this is not in the slightest bit comfy and doesn't work.

Uh, like every other day?
I believe it may be called depression...
But yes I suffer from this an awful lot, I'm self-employed and I probably take on much more work than I should… And I look forward to times when I don't have so much work on, but what happens when I hit one of those periods? I just sit in front of my computer screen not knowing what to do with myself, just clicking from one thing to another on the Internet and at the same time telling myself off saying "you should be doing this you should be doing that" I have loads of hobbies, loads of plans, the house is an utter mess and yet I just can't seem to muster the will power to do anything productive. And lo and behold the day is almost over and completely and utterly wasted. Next morning I receive a job and I'm happy, for while...

Any advice on this? Does anyone else ever feel this way? I hardly ever do because I learned at a young age that "normal life" was boring as [censored]. That was loooong before I got diagnosed with ADHD. Find challenges that stimulate you. Something that will get your blood pumping and adrenaline flowing. Find hobbies that will draw you focus. Break convention and don't try to live up to the expectations of others. Your mind is interesting. So be interesting! When I was 19 I heard a lot of people talking about skydiving. Everyone seems to have that on their bucket list. I don't, I have a skydive license instead! When I was 20 I was a crappy and unhappy car mechanic. Nobody seemed to be impressed by me. So I earned my PhD just to prove a point! (Well, I do enjoy my work now. ) When I was 36 (I still am) my wife joked about a Lego train. Of course we don't have children so we can't have toys. My wife still came home to an extensive rail network running through the living room. I can write an endless list, but the point is... Make your own fun! Have a boring job? Make sure you compensate as much as possible outside of work. That way you will have energy to deal with a bit of boredom at work. For me physical activity works wonders. Boring day at work? Half a marathon after! (Next day: pay the price. ) Running not your thing? Try finding music you really like and losing yourself in it. I'm rocking out on a cd by a band named Device (heavy metal) as I write this. I see you like playing video games. Do you know Battlefield? I used to be one of the world's top ranking knife killers in that game. It had nothing to do with the goal of the game, I just thought it was fun.

Although I do get generalised boredom from time to time, I'm with @dutch on this one.
I started to think about it when I got my mum to fill in the questionnaire for my diagnostic assessment. To "Do they get bored easily?" she ticked 'never'.
In my opinion, I get bored very easily, but I'm continually looking for stimulation so that I don't get bored. I can find 'something' of interest in most things (even in team sports, which I find incredibly dull and pointless).
Not trying to have a 'normal' life certainly helps. I too realised at an early age that normal = boring and so I embraced my difference.
Unlike @dutch, I haven't found a career that I want to stick with and I'm just diagnosed at 48, but with the help of meds and knowledge of ADHD, I'm hoping I will!

Unlike @dutch, I haven't found a career that I want to stick with and I'm just diagnosed at 48, but with the help of meds and knowledge of ADHD, I'm hoping I will! I always seem to be reinventing myself so I have something that challenges me, it's what keeps me going and gives the impression of continuity. The most important thing is to find something you like, even if it's just for a while. You can even chase your dreams if it's what motivates you. Doesn't matter if they're unrealistic. If your dreams get you out of bed in the morning and help you cope with the rough patches, why not?! Very important is also to not be afraid of failing. I fail all the time, but because I keep trying some things work out anyway. Even with a 1% success rate, if you try a thousand things (which we AD(H)D'ers are good at!) you will still end up with 10 good things and the 990 other just become white noise. Thanks guys that's really helpful I hope you find something that will get you stimulated (pardon the pun). I read you were in the army. Were there specific things that drew you to that in the first place? Or have there been things you really liked so far? Maybe that can get you inspired, even if it's an education. I know plenty of people get a good education as a mechanic or engineer and end up being in high demand back as civilians.
