So I've just been busting out some moves to some old skool dance tunes ....I'm feeling great!!!! This is why I loved dancing all night!!! Anyone else? Doesn't have to be old skool but just generally dancing. Once I start I'ts topping up on my dopemine and I can't... don't want to stop....don't care if I'm nearly 50 I can still bust those moves

Hi merrialI was a teenager in the seventies and I hated dancing - at school dancing was formal and I was told I had 2 left feet. When I was forced to go to a disco I discovered everyone danced like sean of the dead - I hated it. Then the eighties came in and everyone went crazy mad on the dance floor and I found my time - whoopee Then along came the nineties and I was told - no one dances like that any more! So what - I do Now everyone dances like they are out of Glee - cute but yawn. I am well and truly stuck in the eighties hi energy dance mode.

merrial I love dancing probably more than anything else. . . I'm also pushing 50 and have problems with my joints but I still go to clubs to dance. . the last time was about a month ago. . the last time I danced was last night! in my house with headphones on I so wanted to go out, but there was nothing I'd feel comfortable about going on my own I've moved city and don't know anyone yet, but I'm planning to go to a couple of gigs this week . It's not uncommon for me to stay up dancing in my house until 4am!

I've just remembered the other type of dancing I like which is the exact opposite of fast and furious.
Its really really slow and controlled like a mix between Tai chi , modern dance and slow motion.

Just talking about this today, I loved dancing down the night club! I used to get asked two questions: Was I gay and did I take drugs? The answer to both was (usually) no.

That's why I prefer to dance in gay clubs. . . I'll dance totally sober and don't care if I'm the only one dancing. .
and I try not to listen to music on headphones when I'm out and about because I've been known to dance at bus stops!

Moving to music is happiness but mine depends on where I'm dancing or the type of dancing.
I'm rubbish at,say, 'disco dancing'in public (as we used to call it back in my day) - way too self-conscious! I prefer to look ridiculous in the privacy of my sitting room with all curtains drawn! ☺
But show me to a barn dance and I was happy beyond words... I have no co-ordination or memory for sustained repetition of sequences of moves so I used to find myself being manouevred about by friends and/or going the wrong way - but I was giggling myself totally senseless ☺
