Hello folks, would you mind sharing my petition please to ban online gambling (just as the US have done). I started it because online gambling sites, have destroyed so many people that I know and it tears families apart. Personally having ADHD, it's really not a good mix with the high speed and stakes of online gambling. It needs to go. If you or someone you love has been affected by online gambling sites, please sign and share. Anything you could do to help promote would be great. Many thanks. Personally, I have never seen the attraction, but I do understand the force of a compulsive nature.
I don't approve of any kind of gambling (apart from small charity raffles) but online is particularly insidious.
Have you tried sites like 30 degrees?

I was thinking about using other platforms but wondering if I could still set up a petition on 30 degrees. Do you know anything about it? This is my first time doing anything like this but I feel very strongly about it

Please accept my sympathies for those you care about being adversely affected by online gambling. I have two very close friends who are addicted to gambling (one visits actual casinos) and I know it can be damaging.
I am happy to be persuaded otherwise, but is it the right approach to petition for *banning* online gambling?
Could we then not argue that online shopping should be banned? I know many people (and me!) whose life and families have been adversely affected by out of control, impulsive spending leading to serious debt.
Or should we ban junk food restaurants and online food deliveries? On account of these directly leading to obesity and damaging to individuals with eating disorders?
Are we not in danger of alienating even further public perception of ADHD sufferers if we ask authorities to take away "normal" people's fun, just to protect our own?
Maybe we can brainstorm a way to allow "normal people" to enjoy their leisure activities AND control their use by ADHD people at risk?
I am sure with our ADHD "out of the box" thinking, we can come up with viable solutions.
For example:
How about making a rule where gambling sites MUST limit every user's playing limit until they have signed the following declaration:
I hereby declare that I do not suffer from any of the following conditions which may affect my ability to play without adversely affecting my life: ADHD, blah blah (whichever other conditions put peoe at increased risk).
Whilst someone hell bent and already addicted may lie on their application (and those people will find something else damaging to pursue if gambling was banned), it may discourage people new to gambling. Even if it saves 1 in a thousand, it will be worth it.
Its only an idea and possibly a silly one, but I don't feel banning is the answer.

You can only fill your house with so much crap and even then it has some resale value and the Consumer Contracts Regulations ( replaces the Distance Selling Regulations ) afford a cooling off period where maybe a saner head will be in charge, nowt like that for gambling.
Try ordering several thousand pounds worth of pizzas to get delivered to your house in one night, let me know how you get on with that, gambling? Easy
You can gamble online, paying by credit card.
That's a damn stupid thing to allow and ADHD or no ADHD a damn dangerous thing to get sucked into.
