Of course, it's all due to lack of decent healthy food, too much TV and poor parenting (including not getting the kids to bed on time).

It is possible there is a link between ADHD and sleep problems, but I would like to see other related statistics, not just "All ADHDers that were tested, were diagnosed with some kind of sleep disorders". Did they actually test any ADHDers that weren't suffering sleep problems? And what percentage of non ADHDers tested were dx with a sleep disorder? (etc.)
Having quite severe sleep problems for some years, and having seen a connection suggested, I've been looking into my own sleep problems, and talked with my Mum about it too.
To cut a long story short, I have had trouble getting to sleep for as long as I can remember. Before I learnt to read, I used picture books, and the pictures on the wallpaper to help me drift off. A good bedtime routine, good parenting generally, a good diet, plenty of fresh air and excercise, and no TV whatsoever did not prevent insomnia, nor ADHD.
While I also remember lying in bed awake a lot, (Dad fitted a nightlight because I didn't like the way things that I could see vaguely in my peripheral vision disappeared when I looked straight at them) I didn't suffer from daytime sleepiness to any significant extent. (I only recall a very few incidents before I started suffering from depression as an adult.)
While I suppose it is not impossible that I only had 'poor quality sleep' I am not sure how this is supposed to cause ADHD without causing more general symptoms of fatigue.

To use the vernacular . . . OMG and LMFAO!!! (I peeked ) It makes the chicken versus egg arguments look intelligent! What a complete load of b... erm . . . tosh! Moving on . . . Borrowing your analogy easilydistracted, Most of the (more intelligent) arguments are about whether it's the girls wearing bikinis that makes the boys wear shorts, or it's the boys wearing shorts that gets the girls to wear bikinis, but I am quite pleased to report, that there does seem to be some information out there, that suggests that boys wearing shorts may actually caused by hot weather, and in other places there is stuff that says that girls wear bikinis in warm sunny weather. I have even found articles saying that scantily clad boys and girls are often found together. (Sleep problems and ADHD) Unfortunately (so far) I have only found one article that wonders if it's the hot weather that causes both, and none that say outright that the sun is at the root of it all, let alone how to make clouds.

Oh marionk loved your version!!! Such a better read then the link. I read the link a couple days ago (while not sleeping lol) and meant to reply sooner that it's a load Iof tosh posh lol I have a bad time sleeping but that is caused by my adhd not the other way around. Because on thr days when I sleep great, My adhd still fs about bit on the days when my adhd vs about my sleep the same night (not before) is rubbish. I love science and philosophy and phsyicolgy and used to think my crazy brain was cos of lack of sleep, so what did I do - some experiments on myself. I kept a kinda diary over the course of about 6 months (I was 18 so it's hard tto remeber) and looked at the different factors that may have effected my sleep and how my sleep pattern effect my crazy brain
