I read this article and thought others might like to read it. From a personal perspective; I am not sure this is a one size fits all discovery, it may be part of the story. I was born a discordant twin; my birth weight less than half of my 20 minute older sibling. In the womb I was clearly second in the pecking order for nutrition... One result of this: A brother 4 inches taller, lean with few health issues, me; short & fat with various health issues along the way. www.theguardian.com/society/2016/aug/18/unhealthy-pregnancy-diet-high-fat-sugar-adhd-children-dna

Hmmm. . saw this earlier. .
Not happy about ADHD being described as a complex psychiatric problem and generally
referring to it in the context of mental health. . .
It also lumps together ADHD/conduct problems as if they're both the same thing.
It does acknowledge that mothers may have a bad diet due to impulsivity, which implies
a genetic ADHD link, diagnosed or not.
I know that there's some evidence to suggest that birth/early life trauma can contribute to
a small amount of cases of ADHD, but this article makes me angry.

Well high fat/sugar/*junk* diets are linked to obesity/gest diabetes etc which gives higher rates of prem/traumatic births which is one of the known factors in switching on the genetic component of any neuro developmental disorder there maye be some indirect *link* but not a causall factor & probably not the most helpful study in that for any of us with hg you eat whatever you can keep down to survive being that a live expecting mother obviously is better for the baby well being.....

lol i asked my mam what her diet was like when she was pregnant with me... she said really healthy, she was living abroad and all meals were home cooked as no takeaways! She did enjoy a bar of dairy milk now and then. However with my sister she craved boiled potatoes, thats all she lived off - potatoes ... sisters got no neurodevelopmental conditions, none of my siblings have for that matter. Im sure I'm adopted.
