Oops forgot about this (half written post) Closing tabs now, will try and remember to post more later.
Actually not a lot for many years now, and especially not fiction.
I'm getting better again now, but for a long while my concentration levels were so bad that I couldn't read more than a few lines at the most.

I find that I when I read, I keep trying to remember what I read on the previous page.

Hi Newdawnfades, I've just returned here after a while too. And I've also just started taking Methylphenidate. We can be meth-buddies. I've had the same side effects you described, dry mouth a lot, increased heart rate sometimes, and felt a bit odd the first few days. That's all mostly settled down now (or it's become normal, at least). I've had a lot of benefit for relatively few side-effects so I'm pretty happy so far.

Buddies, indeed Thanks for the post and glad you are doing well on Ritalin. I had a follow up appointment on Monday. My next treatment to try is lisdexamfetamine/elvanse. I suggested this med' as have heard some good things about it, so will see what happens when the prescription is ready at the doctor's. Let me know what how you get on with the Ritalin.

Shame the mph was no use/no good, but at least you are getting to try lisdex, my psych won't prescribe anything other than mph and strattera. :S mph is okish for me. Some benefit, not brilliant, but no downside. eta forgot to say, I only occasionally get dry mouth, and haven't figured out what (in conjunction with the mph obviously ) causes it.

Thanks. I was getting a little shaky and feeling really cold on small doses. Hopefully the next med' will be better.

Thanks. I was getting a little shaky and feeling really cold on small doses. Hopefully the next med' will be better. What dosage did you get up to? I got really cold one time when I was just starting, but apart from feeling the cold slightly more than I used to, it hasn't happened again, and feeling the cold more may be due to my now having passed the menopause.

Hi Marion it was at 5mg.
It just made me feel too awake at night and wasn't really helping me to be honest.
Hope things are good with you.

I'm surprised you got so much effect from that, but I have read about low doses having contrary effects that go away when the dose is increased.
I never took such a low dose, so I don't know much about it.
I don't get much benefit from mph, but it has improved my sleeping a lot. Sadly it's not quite so effective at keeping me awake in the daytime, but it certainly doesn't make me worse, like other stuff I used to take.
Hopefully lisdex will be better, but it might still be worth giving mph another shot if is isn't.
Shaky and cold . . . how much had you eaten leading up to when that happened? and were/are you dieting?
