Hi, newish member - but with quite a lot of things to figure out as such.. Just wondering how many people suffer from severe procrastination/task avoidance? (I think the latter might be more the description in my case.. :/ ) And by that I mean having things that really HAVE to be done but for some reason you just never get round to doing it.. I've been trying to get myself to submit some health insurance claims for at least six weeks to two months now and it's got beyond a joke. It's not even a conscious decision to avoid it, nor am I doing something else to avoid it - it just never seems to get done.. Not the first time this has happened but its probably one of the more expensive ones if i don't.. Somethings I've been know to have as a "to do" for years.. and I mean years.. it's embarrassing.. I have been diagnosed with anxiety and am currently trying to get (re)diagnosed for add inattentive type.. I'm wondering if this is an anxiety thing or the procrastination aspect of adhd.. or is it anxiety fuelled by the adhd.. I hate my brain sometimes..

It's probably a bit of both.
I'm having a 'planning' day today. .although I know what I have to do, but can't
start because there's too many things and I feel I need to put them in order. .
it could just be an excuse for procrastination . . .
Yesterday my employment advisor wanted me to commit to applying for 3 jobs a week. .
and I had to sign an agreement. . I was overcome by anxiety and tried to explain that
setting a requirement would make me too anxious to start. .and I would feel like a failure
if I couldn't meet the target. . I'm trying to find an explanation that he'll understand. .
I could probably apply for 3 jobs a week if I didn't have the pressure of the target. .
I moved house nearly a year ago and I still haven't changed the address for a couple of
really important things . . I know I need to, and remember frequently. .

I have a letter still waiting to be finished and sent off, from back in February! Ive passed 2 placements and got a new job since then but the letter still needs sorting. I find the smallest tasks are actually the hardest to finish

Yep biggest problem of adHD for me. & Meds while helpful for other things do minimal amounts for this.....
There's certainly parts of my kids pda assessments that I define indenty with, but I would never fit the asd criteria necessary for pda assessment, if adults cold even get assessed for pda.
