Hi Everyone,
Ok so after 7 years of pulling my hair out, I finally got my 13 year old daughter diagnosed with ADHD.
She is also awaiting autism screening as she really struggles socially, it's got worse over the past year. DD used to make friends easily but could never maintain friendships for very long & now doesn't leave the house.
Most days I feel drained and that is my 8:30am, the disrespect is unreal and very hard to deal with, is this part of ADHD or just bad parenting?
DD over reaction to certain situations is so intense, it's like an explosion and everyone will be in her fire line. She has a terrible relationship with her 15 year old sister, they literally hate each other.
I
DD is in year 9 and was expelled from two schools by year 8, so now attends an education support centre, we have applied for an EHCP which is going to a panel on the 15th Nov.
I want to enjoy being a Mum & feel guilty because I really don't and easy day is a struggle:
Well on the positive medication is being prescribed on the 5th, I have no idea what she will be on yet but I wanted to find out how much of a difference do they maker?
Obviously the main aspect would be that the meds help with concentration at school as she is struggling, but will it make my home life any easier?
Would love you hear from you all.
