A lot of us with ADHD also have ASD or significant autistic traits. This is an interesting interview with Penny Andrews who wasn't dx until she was 30. It's only 15 minutes long and I identify with a lot of it . . .and it's positive. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0537492

I was browsing Temple Grandin's The Autistic Brain this morning, and the chapters on associative and creative thinking in particular I reckon mostly apply to those with ADHD too. (And the usual executive functioning/short term memory stuff, of course.)

Adding to this . .there's just been a really good piece on R4 Woman's Hour about ASD in women, which also addresses the difficulties of getting assessed and dx, not being taken seriously and often being misdiagnosed with other MH issues. . . sound familiar? I'll add the link once it's available Oh . .look. link

Ahh don't say that, pretty sure my girls will be dx with both. I'm just hoping that Meds work for them like they do me!

I'm diagnosed with both - scored quite high on the ADOS too (17 for the communication and social interaction combined score). So far I've not had a response to meds which frustrates me but I'm only on 15mg + 10mg so far. No side effects at all, though.
