Hi All, I have a problem I'd like to share - I watch a lot of porn. It varies - some days none, some days 3 or 4 hours on and off all day. This can be on a work day! Very distracting! I hate to use the word addict, but I guess that might be a label that someone would use... My question is whether this is something others with ADD have? Is it common? My second question is how to control / reduce / eliminate this activity. Thanks in advance for your help and guidance

Hi.
Yes. I think I am addicted too. Sex life very infrequent due to family circumstances so I use porn. It started as the only sexual pleasure I get but I believe I am addicted. Mainly when bored but I have in the past spent every spare moment having a quick browse on my phone. Not even getting aroused but filled my bored moments.
Realised it might be giving me problems with erection so have weeks of no porn, then think well I get no sex so have a binge. Feel guilty so leave it for a week then the circle continues.
How are you doing now? Still using porn? How does it affect you?
I am interested to talk about this.

Not sure if 'addicted' is a helpful word. Hyperfocussed on something you enjoy. That's what it is. Because it is porn, it is a societal grey area that some people don't like or like other people liking. If it isn't affecting relationships, isn't of an illegal nature or getting in the way or more important stuff, try to relax about it. If you'd like to stop, the only way is to find something more distracting and exciting.
Your medicine may not help because it's an activity that tends to take place late at night when meds have worn off and taking another stimulant could stop restful sleep.
PS; stimulants can also cause erectile disfunction too.
