Hi. lookingforanswers84 ADHD is often missed, or misdiagnosed as depression, anxiety, pd, bipolar etc. . and sleep problems are really common too. Also, the fact that you responded well to dex (which targets dopamine) and not well to SSRIs (which target serotonin) suggests that it's a dopamine-related issue. And you didn't respond to CBT. Before I was aware of my ADHD, I would have said that I was well organised. .and I am. .but it's through developing loads of different systems and coping mechanisms. Most people don't need such rigid and complex systems to organise their lives. . I Over-compensate and get really anxious if my systems get disrupted.

There are other meds you can try. .
I didn't think I was generally anxious until I tried Elvanse (lisdexamphetamine)
and my anxiety suddenly disappeared . . .however, this was the only effect and
my BP went really high, so I didn't continue. .there are other people who find
their anxiety increases. . .like all meds, people respond differently and you don't
know until you try. There's plenty of people on here who are/were terrified of
taking meds due to some of the rare side-effects. . .the good thing about stimulants
is that they clear your system quite quickly so if you don't like them, you can stop.
