Hi All! My name's Julian, I'm 24 years old and just started my first year at University. I flunked school the first time round but managed to pull my finger out, do an access course and get into one of the top unis in the UK. Unfortunately, it's feeling like school all over again. My environment back home was quiet and distraction free so I could get stuff done easily. Here, there are distraction everywhere! I can't concentrate on a single thing! I feel like I'm going to fail my degree. However, I accessed some help from the uni, they tested my basic skills such as spelling, reading and writing, but my memory came back really really bad. This got me thinking and I eventually stumbled on adhd. I'm still struggling to decide whether I really have the symptoms or not because they seem so subtle AND due tot he nature of my memor problems, I find it difficult to catch myself doing the things that the symptoms describe. I'm getting a referral from my doctor so I really hope that I will be able to find out. School was so hard for me and it would be so good to know that it wasn't my own laziness or stupidity that held me back the first time round. I'll be about, asking lots of questions! Julian
