Why do we have to have this ghastly disruptive rigmarole, that takes ages to adjust to, at all? Let alone twice a year.
GMT is fine even in the winter when daylight hours are scarce, so why do we fuss about shunting the abundant daylight hours of summer around to make the evenings even longer?
It's hard enough getting to bed at a sensible time without making evening time even later! You still have to get up at the same clock time, so effectively nights are made even shorter. WHY?

Because British people and the way we do everything is about 300 years behind everyone else....because that's the way we've always done it

But yeah, it’s an outdated tradition that was initially in place to save electricity but it’s redundant now

I think the question is more, why do we need GMT. I hate it when it gets to mid autumn and then suddenly it gets dark at 4 pm.
