Hi all,
I'm in my late 40s and unfortunately a few weeks ago I had a minor heart attack and needed bypass surgery. I also has a defibrillator fitted. As a precaution they took me off my Concerta XL as they were unsure about what effect it might have due to it being a stimulant.
They have referred me back to my psychiatrist to see if he's happy with putting me back on it but have said it's unlikely. I'm seeing him on Friday.
I'm just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation to me and what the result was. It's been an incredibly difficult time for me and my family and being off my medication whilst trying to deal with it all hasn't helped... my head is all over the place!
Thanks.

Not quite the same, but I have to have a 24h ecg fitted because of an unexplained faint and one reading off the static ecg not being quite right. Not been told to go off my meds though.
Perhaps you could ask for the non stimulant strattera? It's takes an age to kick in, apparently, but won't affect your heart rate like the stimulants can.
