Has anyone had recent experience with ADHD assessment/diagonise/treatment in Cornwall?
I know there is no specific NHS services for ADHD in Cornwall, but I've also heard from an ADHD specialist at my uni that apparently if you have a diagnose of ADHD from somewhere (private specialist, etc) AND a diagnose of a preexisiting mental health condition or addiction it is possible to receive treatment and medication through the NHS for ADHD?

I just talked to a very nice woman called Jo at the online service and they said that if you live in an area with no ADHD service and you have a supportive GP, they will work with the GP to get an NHS funded diagnosis from the local CCG - but that it will still take months and still might be refused. She also said something about having an assessment of your needs when you have a diagnosis and that you can then get funding for online ADHD coaching - from your personal care allowance? Something like that.....

iforget in theory you can get your GP to apply for an Individual Funding Request (IFR) from your Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for either out of area NHS or private assessment . .it may be easy or really hard. . . As you're in work, once diagnosed you can apply for an Access to Work grant via the DWP for assessment of needs and get coaching and any equipment they think you need. As it's the DWP, your employer has to comply
