Hi
I have been on elvanse for more than 12 Months I take between 20 and 40mg depending on workload
Im not sure if Elvanse helps. With or without i struggle with basic tasks. I struggle to write... It takes ages to put together few words, (even simple text messages). To manage, i work long hours. wake up early go to work, sit at my desk and get on with my work. I dont write or respond to emails unless essential Since i started on Elvanse, my muscle stiffness increased and i struggle to walk.
I have been diagnosed with spastic paraplegia
Is this due to Elvanse or is it just a coincodence? I didnt tell the neurologist about Elvanse. I have reduced doses to 30mg but i dont want to stop
Any comment is welcome Thank you Ps I apologize in advance if i dont reply to posts I really struggle to put words toghether

Hi there Sounds like you may be in a really difficult situation. Loss of cognitive independence vs loss of physical independence, potentially? Regardless, I think you should consider letting the neurologist know the score. Part of you will need to accept the worst outcome beforehand. Part of me believes, 'every man's gotta have a code' and doctors are no different. I believe they have to swear to do no harm? Harm includes lowering your self-esteem, sense of belonging or sense of security by withdrawing your Elvanse script in the very name of 'doing no harm'. I've no doubt there will be a way, if it is Elvanse accelerating your demise, to isolate it's effects within the brain, for example or there will be a way to promote dopamine/acetylcholine/whatever outside the brain. Whatever the issue, there's always a way! Don't allow their insecurities to dictate your quality of life, would be my advice. Best of luck
