Hi,
I was recently diagnosed with ADHD Inattentive type after giving up on the NHS waiting list and paying for the private route.
I was prescribed Concerta XL 18mg two days ago by my doctor who made me aware it is a small starter dose and it is trial and error with medication. However.. I feel like my ADHD has been amplified, I have been really sleepy/slow for a few hours after taking it and then livening up in the late afternoon, but not feeling any positive effects with regard to concentration, energy etc.
Is it too soon to contact my doctor or should I wait it out and see if my body needs to adjust??
I am feeling disappointed as I had high hopes.

Hi and welcome :-)
It's normal to start on a small dose and work up the way.
Just report the effects you've had to your specialist - too small a dose often does this.
The goal is the smallest effective dose.
Good luck :-)

That's interesting, thank you. I complained to my Pysch about tiredness from 36mg, and he had no knowledge of a link, but I am on 54mg as of today. Well he actually said play around with 18\36\54 as per what I have planned for the day. I was almost having a nap after taking it
