As per title I'm a very kind of stupid - the kind of stupid that causes so much offence in a local ADHD support group I've removed myself from the group as my presence was clearly causing a lot of genuine hurt/upset amongst members and I am genuinely embarrassed but 'thinking first' doesn't come naturally to me.
What did I do...I posted a link to the Ant McPartlin interview (I'm sure you've all seen it now, he's got ADHD). I posted the original interview which was in 'The Sun'. What's wrong with that you might ask...it's a friggin Merseyside support group 'innit.
Never, ever, ever, ever mention that publication's name anywhere where there might be a Liverpudlian. Lesson learned!!!

Eek! . . .you weren’t to know it would be in the Independent today! It’s not your fault. . .the Sun article had to have comments stopped on the AADDUK FB Group because people who are supposed to be supportive were getting negative and uptight. The comments on social media, especially Twitter, were mostly negative, on the lines of ”he’s using it as an excuse” and “ADHD is made-up” . . . I’m sure it’ll be fine for you to rejoin the group after everyone’s forgotten about it!

Special Stupid? I like that name call. I just did not know that there is something like ADHD until I realised that people have the same comments about me throughout my life.. This includes absent minded.. lack of focus.. inattentive.. getting lost in the conversation...lost attention while somebody is still talking to me and I just completely did another thing because my mind has just thought of something else...
My GP is referring me... for such.. Don't have any idea what's next to happen.
