Hello peeps.
I first came here nearly 5 years ago after first getting diagnosed. I had GAD at the time and was on Concerta... Long story short I came off it and it seemed to cause more problems in the end than it solved.
This time around, I was given a choice of meds to start and chose Elvanse. I'm on day 2 of 30mg, being titrated on in the usual manner.
My question is - does the 'speedy' feeling wear off and tolerance improve? I've noticed some marginal increase in my focus and motivation, but I feel like I've drunk too much coffee all day long. It's a bit annoying, frankly.
Can anyone speak words of comfort?

I was hoping they would get better but after two weeks, I had my follow up and she switched me from them as said the good effects weren’t sufficient to outweigh the bad. I never stopped feeling speedy on them but I do wonder if that is because I had always taken speed in clubs prior and suddenly having it at home just didn’t work. I actually found my anxiety increasing but while I wasn’t keen on the new ones, they have been amazing in comparison.

Yep. I'm currently on the same medication.
Your body is extremely efficient at managing the effects of amphetamines on the body. You should start to feel better within a weeks time, but if not: speak to your titration nurse and look to update your medication. You are only on Day 2 and it can take time for your body to get used to it before you flat out do not feel the high of it.
