Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with ADHD 3 days ago. Started on Concerta X 36mg per day.
I was a cocaine addict and alcoholic for 20years..been clean for 3 years.
So first time I've had a mind and mood altering substance in me.. Surreal almost.
I'm a first year Theology student as well.. Looking for any tips or suggestions regarding the meds or ADHD going forward.
Thanks Ryan

On a personal note, my recreational issue was with speed and they started me on lisdexamfetamine but I didn’t get on with it. I am now on methylphenidate and coping so much better. At least, I was but just had covid and it’s not as effective but I have appt to discuss on Monday so trying not to stress. I understand the surreal feeling but hopefully it will help you cope with your studies. I work a 12 hour shift four days a week. I am also starting an OU course in October but my daughter has just completed her theology degree and is mentoring at her uni so if you wanted any additional support, feel free to dm and we can see if we can offer any help. We suspect she is also adhd but has managed to get through it but I’m hoping we can get her assessed on the next year before she starts her masters (if she does)
