Okay, so - Misunderstood -mentioned about films in another post and I got curious as I can watch long, GOOD films, but I prefer
1) A quiet atmosphere for this
2) To watch films after about 9pm and prefer it dark outside (body clock influence?)
3) I really do prefer, science fiction mostly, followed by horror, followed by twisty brain-engaging films.
Please put your own observations about yourselves in the gaps...
ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND......... Please put your diagnosis ADHD type here (or strongly suspected)

Absolutely not!! I hate going to the cinema, especially for 3 hour long films, its so unnecessary!
I had an ex who complained about me talking all the way through films, but thats the best bit as far as i'm concerned. If i can't talk during a film then i don't want to watch it!!!
I find watching films with subtitles a bit more engaging, since obviously if i look away then i'm not going to know what they are talking about, and miss something important.
I also prefer to watch films after dark, but i think it is because i feel like if you watch a film during the day then you are wasting precious daylight hours that you could be doing something more important, like daylight hours are productive hours and watching films is unproductive, if you catch my drift?
I prefer foreign films, hollywood stuff is all stereotypes, caricatures, predictable storylines, and scarcely concealed conservative morality.
Dunno what my type is though andy, i've been dxd down the 'yeah you've probably got it' route, the 'specialists' i've seen so far can only do a binary comparison: got it/not got it. I would say i appear to be mainly inattentive, but i do have moments of intense hyperactivity, esp when i'm looking at my watch in the cinema and i'm only 40 minutes into a 3 hours film....

i was diagnosed as a dangerously charming inattentive, ;D
And i LOOOOOVE films, -Used to have a collection of hundreds on DVD! cinema is my favorite, because the screen's huge, the room's dark and the volume's loud and it captivates me. i've never been able to read a whole book, but with a movie i can get a whole story in 2 hours. i like most types of film, everything from 'À Bout de Souffle' to 'Dude Where's My Car!' but basically i like films that are an escape; comedy, action, thriller, hitchcock movies and films with nice costumes! hate horror and films that are sad.
that said, i cant watch a movie on TV, as soon as there's an ad-break, i'm off flicking through the other channels and totally forget i was even watching a film! (it drives me nuts how ADHD i am sometimes!!!) ;D

I love films, usually actiony type films / sci fi / fast paced or mind twisting, cant stand the slow burners and then you get to the end and.... yep that really was it!!!! ..........please give me back the last 2 hours of my life then (well more like 3 if you count the paused bits ;D) at home i do tend to pause wander off and go back to it much to the annoyance of anyone watching with me, although i try hard not to (actually just paused one now and i have wandered over here... but its ok, i am watching by myself ) and i tend to have subs on, well i have them on tv too... i rewind bits too, cos i am not sure if i got the plot sometimes or missed what they said.... yes even with subs on, sometimes its cos i realise i have drifted into my own thoughts and have no idea what just went on and sometimes cos i just didnt quite get it

The short answer would be no.
I like watching films but only if im really enjoying it. If im not really really into it then I just walk off and cant be bothered with it. Or if im in the cinema and cant leave then I get very irritated and start tapping my feet and usually go off into a daydream to amuse myself!
I like action/thriller/horror type films.
Havent been diganosed yet but I would guess im combined type perhaps leaning more towards inattentive.

I struggle to sit long enough. Haven't tried since the meds but I bet it will help as long as the time of day is right. Depends if I really like the film, otherwise I am fidget central and often have to wander off (supposedly to the loo). One thing I realised with this LOL there must be a lot of people who think I have a bladder problem as I always used to use that as an excuse to walk about when I should be sat somewhere.

I love films, they are the only thing I watch other than Corrie, Emmerdale and on the edge of the seat dramas, I am a bit of a sucker for period stuff too as I am lost in the past. I love lots of action, explosions, mayhem, blood and guts, disaster movies are great. If the film is a bit dull I do go on the internet on my laptop or get up and wander in and out. In fact I always have the laptop on my lap when the TV is on.
When it comes to the cinema I agree with Matt, I LOVE it on the big screen, films that is. ;-)
I have been diagnosed but I can't remember what type, bit of both I guess. At work I am barmy or mad sherry and the other half calls me the yamp lol!
I don't care you need to be mad in this world!

I like action and SCI fi, must have a strong plot, characeters and actoin. happy to watch in moovies. at home family watch a lot of DVDs and repeat them, I rarely want to watch something more that once except to be company fo rmy wife.
either I have to watch 100% concentration with NO distrubance- or I wander off and I cant get into it and find it boring. most soaps adn US imports adn so on drive me off find lotsof PC and surfing pretty hellish too.
infact I didnt have a TV for over 10 years- until i met my wife and had kids. I prefer to dream of fantastic (but highly practical ) inventions and occasionally build them- mostly I dont have the skill, money or actually time- O have been clearing my half finishedprojects recently which feels pretty good- cathartic

Matt - after reading this I now picture you as a CAT (the one in RED DWARF) sort of person... I go through phases and generally prefer shows to films. Such as [glow=red,2,300]FIREFLY[/glow], which is the BEST show in the world ever - where else would you get a convincing SciFi/Western mix... I would say I am mixed.

hello, i find it impossible to watch films if im not really into them and thats not often. im always the one in the cinema rustling her sweet wrappers, checking the time, trying to get comfy i still try occasionally tho. at home if i watch films i am always talking which annoys anyone with me and if im on my own ill lose the plot of the film and get distracted. i often watch the same film twice because i dont remember watching it until i get to the end which i always seem to remember. theres no point watching the end when you already know what happens i cant stick to tv series either i allways get bored my friends dont understand coz they can watch the same programe for 5 series, i like to mix my watching around tho, diy one week, soaps the next, the documentries, itd be boring otherwise i havnt been diagnosed yet have got the ball rolling now i finally know what is wrong! i wish icould have found out sooner i think i am a bit of both, inattentive but always fidgiting, thinking, cnat stop talking/writing when i get going, tho youve probably noticed Laura
