I haven't got one Leon, cos I daren't, but played a fair bit on one. They're fab, you won't regret it. Get Sonic & Mario at Olympics, brill! Excellent for playing with people though, not sure its so much fun on your own, a real competitive console.

Are video games good or bad for people with ADHD? Or does it depend on the individual.
I am 30 and have been playing computer games since 5 years old.

When I was 5 a single computer needed a warehouse to house it.

I don't think they're bad as long as you don't spend your whole life on them! Amazing how we can very easily hyper focus on them isn't it?

That's what I'm quite worried about actually. I have visions of myself playing until 3am before I realise what time it is. Or, I'll play solidly with it then just get completely bored after a few months. lol If that happens you can sell it to me for half price!!! That's what I'm like with everything.

"If that happens you can sell it to me for half price!!!" I may be contacting you with a bargain in November......... Also, Mouse's comment about computers while she was growing up. I had a ZX Spectrum which I thought was the height of modern technology in 1984. Imagine these days having to load a computer game via a cassette player (remember them!) which made screechy noises for 15 minutes! The kids of today wouldn't have any of that! I can beat that. I had a ZX81 and initially I didn't have it connected to a tape recorder so I had to buy magazines and spend hours typing in the game programs in code in order to play a game, and of course by the time you'd finished there would be mistakes in it so you had to spend hours finding the mistake! I think I probably enjoyed that more than the games!!! lol Saddo geek! (me that is!)

Its funny cos I'm still a geek and I still love code! Recently learned HTML and have already taught a course on it and am now learning XML as well as studing for MCDST qualification (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) so I can train that too. Its all about Windows and I love it. Can't stop reading the manual (have to make the most of it til I get bored, but hopefully I won't!)

The wii was good fun, for sure.
The film short circuit springs to mind........ "input input" Age 5 Atari 2600 Oh dear......the end of the beginning of my life. Or is it ADHD? Age 8 C64 Age 34 - pc as a tool only (no, seriously!) although still play flash games when I can be bothered. Like a light switch....

Did posts get deleted from here or something?
As for the Wii, i got my daughter one (honestly) and when its raining we play it. I wouldnt be so keen on allowing her the same time on other games consoles. I think the Wii is a great console and when you watch the hyper people playing its really quite funny. My daughter bounces around wildly when she is playin and Im probably the same myself lol. Never really noticed.

ZX81! I remember them, my older brother was an old school computer geek, in fact he still is, we had every computer in our house from the atari onwards, we even had a tandy one! I remember typing in programs from input magazine that did things that were so basic that a toaster could do them now, but it was impressive at the time. My ex got a wii and hated it, too much of a hardcore gamer to enjoy it, but i really like zelda on it, i think the more physical control system suits me better than an xbox controller (see my gammy gaming thread about button dyslexia as andy so eloquently puts it).

Have a Wii. When I first heard of the Wii fit I thought it was great idea but the ads for it seemed so dull. People standing on one leg or stretching very slowly. The latest stuff looks a lot better - snowboarding etc, so I'm thinking of getting one. Now. Zelda! Wow! Fantastic! Fantastic, that is, until I got to the bit where you are riding across the field and have to protect the coach whilst being attacked by orcs on huge wild boars. You've somehow got to shoot a bird before it drops a bomb but it is a complete bugger and I've tried a thousand times and can't do it and I am completely stuck and have barely touched the Wii since. Boo hoo. Any tips?

Hanging from it, more like.
I have a dry sense of humour which catches people out. The only problem is that I am not immune to said humour, the swines!!!
