Hi everyone
Sorry for posting this on here as I know you are all extremely busy raising funds/support for your own causes but if anyone can assist it would be greatly appreciated.
Many of you may know, we are going to be delivering supported housing to young people with ADHD/hidden impairments from aged 16-25yrs, well these youngsters we work with at present want to 'GO TO A BALL' as many have never had the chance to attend a school prom---because of exclusions from school or due to their homeless/financial position. Now we want to make this happen in December 09.
We are organising a Charity Ball, the youngsters all involved in the planning but now we are desperate to seek donations of unwanted prom/ball gowns and dinner suits that would be fitting for young people. There is a lot of support coming in from local businesses which is great but we have little in supply of prom or ball gown shops that would hire outfits cheaply or for free.
And, anyone wishing to attend the tickets will be available for sale soon.
Thanks all
Honey x

hmmm, I think I am all out of ball gowns. That's a shame Andy, bet you would have looked cool in a ball gown-----have you as our Drag Queen? The youngsters and ourselves getting quite excited about the event, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor have agreed to support the ball/cause, which we now hope will attract more local attention when we go live on local radio and in local paper during the ADHD Awareness Week. The council have just given us a permit to do a street collection in the Town Centre, another way of promoting ADHD!!!! Honey x

I never went to my ball either, due to being asked v.nicely not to come back to school after the Xmas break of my last year, but I do have dinnersuit, shirt and stuff if you want it. I live in heathrow now but my CBT 1to1 is still in Bransgore, not sure why they sent me to her but shes v.nice and its cool to have someone to listen to me at the moment, on a Thursday, not gonna go this week tho but could drop it off somewhere in Dorset/hants week after. oh honeypot thanks for reminding me to phone them and cancel this weeks appointment. also my ex works for the Fortune Center in Burley, i could ask her and see if they want any tickets there?

ps, if you have a flyer or poster of some kind, asking about gowns/suits etc, i could see if they could put it up on a notice board in the fortune centre
Thats if you dont know anyone who already works there, that is.

Hi All
Well things are full steam ahead, the ball is being held on the 2nd week in January and the local support we are getting is amazing. The Private Landlords association and Rotary have made financial contributions and lots of raffle prizes coming in from local businesses.
A hairderesser, nail tech, Make-up rep from big store and dressmaker have all offered their services. So now need contributions of Pale Blue and Yellow balloons (Forgetmenot colours) to form arch into venue, local college lending us Red Carpet---so all the works!
We have been granted a permit from the council for a town centre street collection so all the youngsters will be in town for 2 days in December dressed as Sugar Plum Fairies---cool!!
Apart from the above---nothing else happening---I WISH!!!
Thanks all for your support but any items anyone wishes to send can be sent to our new office address to ADHD Sanderson House 126 Dorchester Road. Weymouth Dorset.
Again, thanks all xxx
Honey xx
