unfortunately not helpful to me now, but hopefully it will help other young people and it could have helped me.
im feeling let down toady, how did no-one notice how unhappy i was? i went from a seemingly model student, to a truanting, bored 16 year old, to a rebelious, failing terribly sixth former then i dropped out and got pregnant at 17. were these not warning signs?
i really hope these guidlines will be implemented, and students mental health taken alot more seriously

Sounds so familiar Laura! Model student -truanting 17 yr old - failed most A-levels and got pregnant whilst 18 in my case. Marrying an idiot before I hit 19 was the only bit that turned out to shoot me in the foot tho! lol. On the upside - If I'd not have had both of my daughters by the time I was 20 I'd never have had enough energy to bring up my youngest ;D. And hopefully having good insight into how my youngest experiences school will be helpful - assuming I don't lose the plot when she gets teenage . Gonna go read the NICE guidelines. Anyone know if school governors get issued with all these kinds of resources? I might have to think about mailing them a lot of stuff if not perhaps?

Dear All Having left school aged 16yrs and soooooooooooooo happy to leave I embarked on a catering course to become a chef as I looooove food ! As it goes came top of class and loved the course ! Problems came when I finished and went in to my first job ! What a disaster as I was in a room on my own and they expected me to put all my own structures in ! Never happened and got in with the hippies of the time and was stopped by police with new friend and taken to police station as she had an acid tab in her purse ! My parents were called and think I went home or did I stay cant remember but found sex then too just because was unhappy and needed attention ! Anyway that was in the 70's and yes I stayed but went in to waitressing ! Great much better as got to whizz around everywhere ! Must have been the fastest waitress in the Highlands ! Always loved waitressing but social hours and pay POOR ! Anyway am rambling on but to cut a long story short its never too late to find ur vocation in life and am a Qualified Optician (passed aged 40 ) Not what I am here for but helped me on my way so many thanks to God for that ! Am learning about life every day and can now live in the moment thanks to my meds Hallelujah !!!!!!! Am also very happy with myself which I never ever thought I would be !!!

Hi Roland
Thanks for posting this link as I can now distribute this to our LEA and other educational establishments here. It has come at good timing as I had the results of recent 0-19 3rd Sector representation and I was elected as a Board Member on Service Development. So now going to be sitting alongside the big chiefs at county on how services will be developed for children and young people------chuffed or what but they don't know whats about to hit them yet!!!!!!
If anyone can assist me it would be appreciated. As like you, we want to write to all CAMHS teams in order to find out what they are doing with regards to transitions from CAMHS to AMHS for those with ADHD. There seems to be little done on this and many health services have yet to produce a ADHD Transition Plan. So if any of you can send me details of CAMHS in your areas this would be a great starter for us.
Thanks all.
Honey xx
