Hi We hope many of you would be kind enough to take part in our parent survey and circulate the link to other parents/carers you may know. www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=AnhRjWnn2VJbLII6exsdpw_3d_3d The results we think will be rather interesting and provide a clearer picture as to what is and is not available for ADHD families. Thanks in advance all. Honey xx

Honey out of interest was this survey something to do with the dorset support group??
If so i'm in regret of bothering myself, i only have disappointment in regard to that group...I was desperate for help last June, living in fear or the forthcoming holidays, unable to comprehend the 6 weeks ahead , only to be told there wasn't any support available from an unfriendly/unhelpful phone-conversation & my heartfelt email was ignored!! I was very upset & annoyed!
Sorry honey i'm not ranting at you lol

Survey completed. Hope it helps. Was interesting to fill it in, from the reflective point of view. I was very glad it asked about the impact on siblings of children with ADHD. My eldest child deserves a medal for everything she tolerates, and for the extra responsibility she takes up keeping an eye on her younger sister.

Hi Simone
Sorry you felt that the Dorset group did not assist you and I would like to know as to who you spoke with on the helpline. Yes I am linked to the Dorset group and take most of the calls and cannot recall your name or call.
The parent group meetings were suspended for a short time last year due to funding issues and no one attending them. With regards to e-mails, was this through our 'Contact' from the website or direct? Again, I pick up most of mails and have gone through them all tonight and have not found any that match your plea!
What you need to remember, is that most parent groups are run by volunteers, many parents themselves of a family member with ADHD. If you feel that we did not accommodate you in any way I would much rather hear this direct, so please do get in touch privately.
Thanks
Honey x

Chrysallis
Thank you for completing this, your input and time is greatly appreciated. We hope that the outcome of this survey will demonstrate that nothing has changed for our group of children and we as families.
Thanks again.

Thanks Honey, again i'm shocked at my winge, i definately should have made that a private email, i'm having a really bad 48hrs.
I'm in desperate need of support here, would love to go to the Bristol group, bit too far away, but an adult group would be ideal atm.
I get the impression the Dorset group is more child centred info?? I do have a child with adhd & could use some advice which is why i did make contact initially?
I have left a message on the phone line this evening, to find out about whats up & coming??
Please don't let this be an impression of me, i'm slightly down today..I will try to find the email & re-send it?? x

Hi Simone
That's ok sweetie, we all have good and bad days!
The group is expanding it's services somewhat and in the New year things will be changing for us. Our group is open to all ages and always have been as stated within our constitution since 1997.
There is a After school club taking place in Poole for ASD/ADHD under Every Child Matters and Short Breaks for Disabled Children and their Families. Look up Gimme A Break website and the contact details are on there. Helen who runs it is super and a great support to parents.
Give me a call in the morning if you are available.
Honey xx
