Hi Lisa, Congratulations, running a support group is great fun! Please feel free to use/abuse the guidelines for the West London Support group here: www.simplywellbeing.com/west-london-adhd-support-group-guidelines. I would also be very happy to come along to one of your groups and talk about one of the topics I have covered at the Tear and Share ADHD Adult Group in Chiswick. We have reached an attendance of over 20 in a few months and now have to find bigger premises, hope you have the same numbers. regards Andrew

Thanks Andrew and i definitely will take notes. unforchantly our group has a lot running on it by its numbers i am trying to show link as well as my mp and pct that an adult ADHD center is the only way we can go. as well as help as many people as i can along the way. i no its big but so is the child one, and they have done that im trying to stress that we southampton and hampshire are very behind on this and due to the suffering i for one have had to go through i think they could at least give us that lol big fight i no but we shell see. cant be no worse of than we are now ! after our first group im hoping to inspire people to use there own fights to join our campaine. our face book page has 305 members in 4 days we have been advertising big time for it though for the above reasons. i just hope it works !!!! any who thanx again for your help and we would love for you to come to our group. pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease lol lisa

lol well i must say i am impressed :0 i really am, that is exactly what i want to do and by march April i hope to approach addiss and have a committee ready to be able to ad ear to there constitution. and i look forward to that day. but at the moment im doing this because i myself am fighting for treatment and could not believe the fact i was diagnosed and then just dropped from there books because they are not commissioned to treat me. after all the hard work Ive done. i dont think so !!!! so unforchantly for them and forchanetly for me i have ADHD and will use my energy to put things right or it will bug me. so before i turn to the path of righteousness and receive opropriate medication !! and treatment im gonna play right up ! and see if it works ! basically draw attention to myself and what i am saying in the biggest ,loudest way i can say it ,and i believe i have. i just have to hope it works, look forward to meeting you and following your and others lead thanx again lisa

ahh thank you everytime i think this is all getting overwhelming and i get a knock back like people who said they would help have now managed to have their hands tied !! someone like you pops up and the day looks so brighter. I am going to show our group what you have done and very impressive it is to. As well as ideas from the Dorset group and of course ADDISS who have been extremely helpful i have there news letter witch has lots of very useful info on about so many things i dont no if you will agree and would like your opinion on Dr Hallowell i have some stuff that i liked from online like 50 tips on managing ADHD etc and the USA are so much more advanced. I have to go through it before the group but i have his book as well driven to distraction read a few bits i think he has some good ideas. But i also feel that i want our group to decide how we will run, what info they want and need, are we going to stay as a drop in or be a group that maby has a bit more structure than that ? Ive got ideas to cover all areas so am going to offer what i got and see what these people want because i would hate to assume they all want and need the same me. thanks for your support Andrew look forward to meeting you in the future Lisa

The main thing is to get teh group going - you can always change it's structure later, or, with a bit of luck, it will grow and there'll be spin off groups that can be structured in different ways.
Do what you have to to start with - if stuff seems overwhelming just start with the simplest thing you can do - probably some sort of drop in thing, or get together over a cup of tea or something. Don't be disheartened if not many people turn up at first - they have ADHD! It will take a while until people get into the swing of coming along, so try to have it meetings regularly at the same place and same time.
You can do it! We're rooting for you!

Thanks guys lol Ive always wanted to say that, that's the problem Ive made a lot of people aware and sometimes i think yes its the way to go and one more person ask for help or describes what i was going through years ago and it pushes me to do more, not to mention i never want my kids to go through this as adults ever, then on the other hand i stop for a sec and think omg who do you think you are girl and what if these people think im deranged ! i have told the best part of southampton about our group because im so mad there has been nothing till now i even want to contact meridian and tell them about my campaign ! and i am going to send a letter to over 200 schools to ask for there support for the ADHD children they have in there schools we have £3m going in to building special needs schools and not one mention of helping ADHD children when i asked the man in charge he told me to go to the council meeting and i will !!

I live in Basingstoke and would love to attend your session.
I'm very new to this. It was only recently was ADHD mentioned to me as a possible cause of my symptoms but from all my reading it makes perfect sense and I would like as much help as possible to make sure I can manage the symptoms as best as possible.
