Hey Phil, Sorry things are so bad. Maybe now is the time to really push for a proper diagnosis as well as some medication and perhaps counselling? It is often easier to get help when your situation is really bad. Have you followed the advice on this site for getting a diagnosis yet?
I don't know if you want to get back with your partner or not, but if you do it seems that you are going to need to demonstrate that you are taking steps to make changes in yourself.
Getting some help and some maybe some meds would surely demonstrate that to her and to yourself.
Really you are now faced with getting a grip on yourself and making yourself able to function better. If you don't then, sorry to say it, you probably will be F%@£'ed.
There is no time like the present and it seems that there is not much to stop at home for right now, so why not go out and make it happen?
If you met with problems getting meds before, try again and again. Change GP if they won't listen, but you really need to do something or accept becoming a victim of ADD.
Best of luck.

ABC according to the BFN or the doctors bible ritalin can only be perscribed by a specialist! so my G.P's hands are tied all he can do is pass the buck

counselling would be like probation and that pee'd me off just getting there. a cheaper version of counselling would be to buy a nodding dog and talk to it for an hour a fortnight ;D i saw a counseller once and she couldnt help me and passed the buck ;D

Sorry to hear about what has happened Phil I wonder if you have considered joining up to your local Freecycle to help get you some essential furniture etc. I am the Lead Mod of my local Freecycle, and I'm sure you may be able to find a few things. Maybe you could e-mail your local moderators of your nearest group and explain your situation. If you went barging in n post all these wanted ads they can be a bit funny. Of course you can always check out whats on offer and find yourself some bits and pieces maybe. I dont really know what to say about your doctors Phil. I do know the GP cant prescribe Ritalin, so I know he is not rtrying to be funny. I have to wait n see a psychiatrist to get my meds even though I've seen a psychologist and he diagnosed me with Adult ADHD he cant even prescribe for me. I know we dont have much of it, but we do have to be patient althought it's no good in your situation. I do hope things work out though somehow, and of course you always have us lot here to unload on.

Hi phil, same thing happened to me a wee wbhile ago now. You just got to get on with things mate. Please dont do what I did and allow yourself to wallow and sink into depression. Give yourself a shake when you catch yourself and try and keep busy doing things that will help you. Doing some DIY to the house, going to see friends, exercising. Whatever it is, dont just sink buddie. If you need anything just send me a weee pm or msg me on msn. My dertails are to the left.

tigger, i've seen a child psychologist, councilor, 2 consultant psychiatrists, ot's, a forensic psycologist, some other shrink, and a neuro psychologist! and dr hilary jones briefly but he did not diagnose me madscot diy, exercise it brings on hypomania and at the moment i'm just enjoying the peace i have been potching about trying to tidy i weighed in the mini bus so thats a weight of my shoulders i'm waiting on a bus pass now so i can have freedom and not pay for the privalige! ;D the only downer is i got the d,v,l,a on my back over two cars and a fee for parking in a disabled bay with the mini bus like i can get the doors open in a normal bay they are taking me to cival court, on this day it was snowing and there was nobody in tesco's but this is the crime of the century and i'll accept no less than a trial by jury and a castodial sentance ;D

I agree it may be a little over top. But disabled spaces are there for a reason as are rules. Dont do the crime and you wont do the time. You knew what you were doing now you have to pay consequences for you actions, probably a slap on wrist and couple points on licence.
My moms disabled in a wheelchair and i hate it when people use disabled spaces as its difficult for her to get out car and get into wheelchair in normal spaces. Sorry not much sympathy there phil.
