I thought this little clip from a Monty Python sketch sums up what it is to be told to 'just' get on with something...

Monty Python aren't shit. All three of their movies are three of the funniest movies to date, still.
Derek and Clive are great too.
I love all great comedy. Gervais is king though.

"What ya gonna do, bleed on me?"

Nope. I said all GREAT comedy. Two Pints of blah blah is one of the most abysmal sitcoms ever.
For me, the great sitcoms are as follows...
- Fawlty Towers - Blackadder - The Young Ones - Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Office (UK) - Extras - Arrested Development
Then you've got the wonderful animated worlds of...
- The Simpsons - South Park - Family Guy
And the pretty interesting abstract worlds of...
- Monty Python - The Mighty Boosh (sometimes)
And, a notable mention due to its undercurrent of intelligence is Fraiser but doesn't quite make it for me because there are still too many formatted cheesy elements to it that had to be kept to keep the studio bosses happy.

Fawlty Towers was great in its day. It's an anachronism now.

I had been hoping to kick off a discussion on learning styles and how people feel about learning new skills rather than a saccharine schlep through superannuated schmaltz....

I feel stupid. Just plain stupid when anyone tries to teach me anything. I don't seem to be able to learn like others

Fawlty Towers was great in its day. It's an anachronism now. Yes, like a lot of comedy, it's aged but it was great for its time so I definitely put it amongst the great sitcoms. Also, it was always anarchy. All that matters to me is how well the anarchy is done. And John Cleese is superb and entertaining always. And the character of Basil is timeless because it's his human traits that make him funny not his silly walk and manuel-beating.

I feel stupid. Just plain stupid when anyone tries to teach me anything. I don't seem to be able to learn like others Thank you for joining in on the learning style discussion. Sometimes I can pick things up really easily (and people think I am really clever) and sometimes I need things to be made really simple to the point that people call me stupid and get exasperated with me. I think some of is that my butterfly mind has flitted through so many subjects that sometimes I am learning something I already know something about and so look as if I am learning really quickly and other times lack of concentration, the slightly weaker 'working' memory of ADHD, learned helplessness etc etc makes it hard. Sound familiar?

so familiar. This thing is weird! I am going through so many emotions right now. This site is my lifeline at the moment. Just reading that people feel how I feel is comforting. I haven't told anyone I know becuase of the awful ADHD stigma of 'its all in your head!' People have told me all my life I am intelligent and I struggle to keep up with that label so I have felt the complete opposite. ADHD makes so much sense to me

That is me...I can be epicly creative and surprising sometimes, but other times as dumb as £$£$"$"£$"
