Not good in a new area either. Generally good at guessing where i am in semi-familiar places..Def. worth investing in a sat nav with add..!

Nah, I have a good sense of direction , I am good at reading maps and directions; I never get lost as a rule. Haven't got a clue about left and right tho.

im quite good at map reading as well (if its the right way up ;D) but while i can read a map and plan a route really well, actually doing it is another story entirely, i can get lost finding my way upstairs (so my OH reckons ) actually, i used my sat nav the other day for the first time on a real route, and had to turn it off and get my OH to talk me through the last bit of the journey on hands free cos i had got lost lucky he knew the area really well and where abouts i was at the time really ;D

Better with meds but I find it better to research area and print out Map with instructions although I find that being visual is great help and can retain a lot of the directions ! Prefer Landmarks but these can change !

Hi just found this site an adult who as just realized I may have adhd My sense of direction is zero to the point of total humiliation so frustrating go out of shops the wrong way blah blah. Got a sat nav but feel stupid using when giving friends a lift in a 3 mile radius of home lol actually its not funny!

Hi brainbounce welcome to the forum! I do exactly the same thing. The other day I walked into the men's room (and its not the first time I've done that) instead of the ladies because I turned right instead of left, and no I didn't see the sign on the door, actually to be more accurate, I was aware there was a sign on the door but didn't pay attention to whether it was wearing trousers or a skirt ;D In addition to ADHD, I was also diagnosed with dyscalculia so my poor sense of direction is the result of a combination of both: www.dyscalculia.org/symptoms.htmlMed haven't helped me with any of this, but the meds have helped so much in other areas of my life, that I've now got the courage to admit I get lost, and also have no sense of time, although it was a bit embarrassing when I had to back out of the men's room, my friends thought it was hilarious though ;D
