I think the site would do alot more good if it had a facelift. Maybe a blog and news section. Also with the increased popularity of iPhones and other mobile devices, maybe a mobile version of the site would be good.
I'd be more than happy to offer my services for this (free of charge this isn't an advert for me to get freelance work). The sites helped me so much in a short period of time it would be nice to give something back .

No it's not broke, but in the world of online marketing your only as good as your website looks. Studies have proved the bounce rates on websites tend to be alot lower on better designed sites. More time spent on the site means more exposure about adult ADHD which in turn means more people will take it serious. Before I first came to site I must of visited 3 or 4 times before I eventually stayed and actually read the content... Think how many other people never actually come back to the site... I just think it needs to look more offical and professional. Sites like bupa or the nhs scream importance even before you read any of the content. All because of a good initial design. Sorry if I said alot then I kina got into the whole speach...

Hi Lee, We've been thinking a great deal about the website and are interested in hearing your ideas. Could you take a look at the pages of our website and then give us a list of things we can look into: www.aadd.org.uk/And thanks ;D

Hi Roland Looking at the sites content the best way to go is Wordpress. If your not familiar with Wordpress its a blogging software which is often used as a content management system because of how easy it is to use, update and manipulate. For the sites content maybe try and keep aspects of the site separate, i.e. instead of having one page for "symptoms, diagnosis and treatment" break them up into individual sections making navigating the site a lot easier to navigate. Have a video section, events section and latest news section. Contact form, resources section (useful links), a tips and tricks section - tips about how to cope with ADHD submitted by people with ADHD. Maybe a stories section, where people can post in stories of there life with ADHD. I love reading stories about how people got there diagnosis and how there life changed after it (for better or worse) It keeps you motivated. There just a view ideas. As for the design of the site I'd have to get some details about what message you want the site to portray (fun, energetic, professional), colours and fonts. If I'm given some details I can have a visual done for Saturday. Thanks, Lee EDIT: Also i use my Iphone to view the site while i'm at work or out and about. Using wordpress you can install a plugin which instantly makes a new template just for iphones and other mobile devices! pretty cool.

i hate things being moved and changed. content is what is important to me. i would never hold the nhs up as a shining example of good practice. they haven't impressed me yet. pretty pictures and lovely chandeliers are just a front. strikes me as "all fur coat and no knickers" didn't think we were into marketing but assisting and supporting each other ...etc etc etc...

I understand how you feel, This is a lovely community here and the people are very helpful.
My point is that if this site is being talked about on TV or in magazines and people come to a site that doesn't look to professional (I don't mean to offend there), then its not going to be taken seriously.
You want recognition for adults with ADHD? You want more support from the government? Well I guarantee that "marketing" the site will help that.

i know you mean no offence but you are descibing exactly how i feel. you are describing exactly how i feel, and have always felt. i'm never good enough and am not taken seriously. my presentation is rubbish and it takes me till afterv the event to work out what i should have said.
but who am i to stand in the way of progress i'll get over it and find my way eventually sorry to sound so whingey it just hit a raw nerve i think i'm just having a bad time ....so whats new

I was bored and since i broke up with girlfriend i have way to much free time on my hands. So anyway yeah i did a sample visual... Its a taster of how a design can empower a website.
I no this might not be what your looking for... understand that this is based on my ideas alone.
If I'm given a design brief about how you want the site to look/ feel i can do a much much better job.
Also i didn't put to much time into this, only took about 2 hours.
Cheers, lee

I suppose accessibility is most important. Anyway, my creativity is about as good as a chocolate fireguard, so I'll just watch and wait.

I love it when people compliment my work. I'll try not let it go to my head... No promises though
