I had 4 surgeries as a child and ate so much penicillin I'm still immune to a few. Was in the hospital at least every 6 month and wasn't allowed to swim without plugs and a cap, was never allowed under the surface. Still struggle with hearing loss due to scaring and constant pain in my right ear (my eardrum on that side is pretty much immobile).

Yes, I had them dozens of times from puberty through until probably my early 30s - 3 or 4 times a year. Since then I still get them but more infrequently. Had an infection (started in the left, somehow jumped to the right too!) a couple of months ago
