I was doing the internet rounds, and I thought of looking up "all or nothing" personality. Well, there were quite a few links, so I eventually clicked to the description of the "INTP" personality type. Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiver one of the sixteen personality types defined by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. I read some of it, but thought I would post the link because most of what I read, fitted in with me. I wonder if a few of you will notice a similarity if you delve it. www.intp.org/intprofile.htmlStill, there are 16 variations of the personality type, so I'm sure this covers all. typelogic.com/Hmmm, I bet most of you looked at these during your own quests, already.

I did this a few years ago at work - i was an INFP if i remember correctly - it worked really well in an office environment as it got people very accepting of their differences without labels - everyone could say "hey you know im an IF..., or ah, do you think that’s because your an IN......" rather than "hey I have adhd or hey im a paranoid schizophrenic" It put everyone in the same boat if that makes sense - after all if personality types keep being sub categorised and sub categorised we'll all end up with a label of some sort anyway. Or a model number, euugh!

Yes, Myers Briggs can be a very powerful tool to get teams to be more comfortable with diversity in working styles because it shows you that it's essential to get a mix in a team for it to be really effective. The profiles tell you about how your preferences can be both a strength and a weakness and the trick is then to play to your strength while being aware of how your weaknesses will impact others. I come out as ENTP, so very quick to spot solutions, big picture, fly by the seat of my pants (any of this sound familiar, ADHDers?) but my Achilles heel is planning and slowing down to communicate my ideas to people I work with. Apparently we all tend to gather teams around us in our own likeness, which can be disastrous (would be if none of us ever planned) so we need to consciously look for others with styles that complement rather than duplicate our own.

Your Type is ISTP Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving Strength of the preferences % 67 1 75 78
Thats what I just got. Don't know what it means yet, as I have no motivation at the moment. I'll read your link, and the difference between S and N when I get chance.
John
edit.
I have now had a look, I relate to some of ISTP and some of INTP.
It may be because I am usually impulsive cause of the ADHD, but sometimes I need routine and stability if I am feeling a bit autistic.
As it says I am only 1 percent sensing, then it could go either way from ISTP to INTP depending on my mood.

Usually I get ENFP on these....let's take a look!
And on this one...
ESFP Extraverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving Strength of the preferences % 56 12 25 78
Having me as Sensing slightly higher than Intuitive this time - hey ho.
And acting, performing, advertising and PR are the main careers - just think, at school they told me to go work at a stable!
