I know with me being so open bout my ex being a past prison inmate you all probably think 'phew', 'ignore that one like the plague'! I would have thought & done exactly the same thing a few yrs ago, before I knew him!
But i'll put something 2 u . . . . . he is the first person 2 say that committing crimes & behaving imorraly is WRONG! He is the first person 2 say YOU SHOULD NEVER HURT OR EVER TAKE FORGRANTED THOSE YOU LOVE!
He's suffered with ADHD since childhood - he's now 35yrs old & his parents have always said "he's hard work, he's a trouble-maker, he's lazy" etc etc. Don't you think it was their responsibility to recognise he had ADHD, or at least some problems, as a child? All he's ever been told by his parents is "it's your fault your in the position your in, you're a WASTE OF SPACE".
How would you feel if you knew you couldn't help or control your behaviour & you looked 2 your parents 4 help, support & guidance, & they acted like they wanted rid of you? Think about that for a few seconds. . . . .how would you feel? He turned 2 heroin, but, despite his enduring problems, he's 3yrs clean! Try & put yourself in his shoes, he's a lovely, caring man who's had a raw deal of life - but he's doing his utmost 2 gain a good life 4 himself & 2 prove that drugs are completely in the past! Thanx, N x

The majority of us here are in his shoes in one way or another. Please drop the accusing overtones - you're preaching to the converted

How would I feel?
'Oh no, not again' springs to mind.

I did reply to your post last night. I certainly wouldn't judge anyone because they'd been to prison whether they had ADHD or not. The prevalence of mental illness in prison is very high. Many of them should be in mental hospitals, not prison and their behaviour is explicable in those terms. I've had serious impulsiveness issues myself and could quite easily have wound up there too.
