I don't know if these have already been discovered & done to death already, or even if they'll interest anyone (but me), but I found this website where you can test various areas of cognitive functioning. It doesn't tell you anything specifically in relation to ADHD, but it's interesting & a bit of fun (if you have no life like me anyway! ;D) Might be interesting for people who are interested in exploring their working memory - the "monkey ladder" test is a real bitch! www.cambridgebrainsciences.com/ What I thought was wierd is that I performed best on the concentration tests, - so either my problem's not ADD (In which case I'll get me coat ) or it's a different kind of concentration involved?! It's an interesting distraction from studying anyway - any excuse!! ;D Diz x ps sorry, don't know how to make hyperlink work!

www.cambridgebrainsciences.com/ - just type the URL and it'll make it a link automatically. Oooh, yeah monkey ladder is a bitch once you get several squares to remember...

Thanks for link Seahorse - I've never maked one of those things work yet! I guess no-one else is quite as excited by these tests as I have been ;D I get so ridiculously obsessed by things, and now I've got my son obsessed with doing them too!! (Want to start an obsessions thread now!) My first monkey ladder score was 5, but I've got it up to 7 now! The first time I did the tree test I got zero - just couldn't work out how the hell to do it even after reading the instructions Anyway, no more silly online tests for 2 days now. I will study I will study I will study.... x

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'll post my results soon....
Cambridge brain challenge Score 38.....
Performance rating 28% no of people matched with = 1105
I'm not going to go back to that because I'm so fickle that when I make a single mistake I'm like "grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

My 8 year old is now also obsessed with bettering his scores on here - worrying thing is he's better at some of them than me! The 1st time I did the Hampshire tree challenge I got 0 as I couldn't even work out how to move the beads - he worked it out straight away and got 19! I got 39 on the full brain challenge first time - haven't done the whole thing again since, as I want to practice them all individually until I get really good and then re-do it again so I can feel like a genius ;D

tree challenge? beads? ah, musta missed that.
I personally think that I can train to 10 digit span ......the numbers just falll out of my head most times though......
I have to dial those numbers quick otherwise they'll go. No tme to wait, lest the fade happens.

I'd kill to get 11 digits - you ARE a genius ;D!! Still stuck at 9 ( or 3 lots of 3!)

Oh yeah! Just call me Mrs smugbottom - I got 45 on the Cambridge Brain Challenge - hooray!! That's because I finally got the hang of the odd-one-out. The trick is to stop trying to concentrate on it, kind of cross your eyes so the images look a bit blurry and then go with the first instinct - story of my life...too much thinking means can't see the wood for the trees! Digit span - still stuck on 9 Paired associates - hit a block at 6 every time Grammatical reasoning - can't get past 21 - it's the double negatives, they confuse me everytime - DER!!!

I should add that I do these sort of tests during ultra quiet times..( 1am-4am. I'm usually doing these tests at the tail end of my day. I did some after I woke up previously, but I did not notice a difference that a fresh (ha) mind should make.

lazy login monster ;D ;D!
I tend to do them in a coffee break when I'm studying - I kid myself that the mental workout will do me good, but I think they just end up winding me up really!

THE CHALLENGE IS ON! SCORES............ CAMBRIDGE BRAIN SCIENSCE SCOREZ. --------------------------------------- There are some very unlikely results to compare with on the CBS website. I have tried to send them email to alert them that the results and the average peaks of the charts are flawed because of this. Emails are refused from 2 domains. CAMBRIDGE BRAIN CHALLENGE = Best score 42Average about 37 Reckon I might hit 45 after many hours of training, but I don't think I can ever go higher as it hurts my brain and I start getting very frustrated and childlike , hitting buttons and things......... I'm just a tiny bit right of the highest peak of the curve. In other words, just a tiny bit higher than "average" _____________ Seperate tests. MEMORYDigit span 9 (how many digits you can remember) I think I could get to 10 with training, but that is epicly hard for me..... Paired associates 5 (Remembering where a picture was on a grid) I think I could get to 6 or 7 with training, but.....arghh. I was smack bang in the centre of the "average" peak Monkey ladder 8 (Remember the order of numbers on the soon to be blank squares. The chimp vid does it better and faster than you though.) If I get to 9 it will be a miracle. Spatial Span 6 (remember the order of the flashing grid of 4x4 boxes) If I get to 7 it will be a miracle lol. I wonder if training will even help. REASONINGGrammatical reasoning 24 (Testing one's understanding of simple text statements about a square or circle and its status) Could maybe achieve 26 but no more as it is a right tangle up of a test for me. I was slightly right of the "average" peak Double trouble 75 (an absolute nightmare, although such a simple concept....basically, what colour is the text? green or red....sounds easy does it not muahahaah I'm ranging 50-60, with a top of 75 yay, but that was tough stuff... I was noticeably right of the average highest peak. Object reasoning 31Odd one out 15CONCENTRATION TESTS[/b] Rotations 120 (Is the other image an exact rotation of the start image or not?) I'm fluctuating badly on this one. My averages seem to be about 70, the 120 is a one off, I wonder if I can get to that again? Feature match 143 (arghhhhhhhhh) I'm averaging about 110. Polygons 92 (arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh, truly irritating but discerning) I'm averaging about 60-70 PLANNINGHampshire tree 53Spatial search 9 Spatial slider 44

I wrote down all my last scores nice & neatly so as to copy em out on here.......................but then I lost the bit of paper! When I find it - ( it will have been assimilated into 'paper mountain' in my room) - I'll post em up. I love the capcha codes on here. This one was 'talk turkey' - and last time I had 'tastes like chicken'! ;D

Can anyone help me with instructions for the Hampshire Tree test? I can't figure out how to move the balls, so I'm getting a ZERO score as I sadly watch the clock run out. :/

i only seem to do it when i'm really really tired and fighting bedtime, or have something really important to do that i'm procrastinating and distracted by. can't remember how i scored, tho i remember the scores were really funny... o yes, i actually managed to score MINUS on one, don't remember how. I was so bad that it rated 100% of people better than me. 100%. As in, I'm SO bad that even I am better than myself. i think it was a test of attention. tho it might have been memory. i'll have to go & look again. when i remember.
