does anyone else actually read stuff backwards?
paragraphed letters and posts on here for example, i start at the last paragraph (or near to the last) and work my way backwards, and then only skimming through, to make matters worse.
then if i 'need' to, i re-read forwards some parts, and i dont know necessarily what triggers the forward re-reading either. i dont know if its bits that my brain can't put in order properly from the backwards reading or they are bits that my brain has picked out as being 'key' or something else entirely.....
curiously, i never read a book by starting at the end though.
i am just wondering if anyone 'gets' what i mean, or does it themselves.

I often don't read things in the sequence they were written. Sometimes that works. Sometimes it gets me into trouble!

A novel I will always read from start to end.
Other articles, depending on what I am reading, I tend to flip around looking for either the' juicy bits' or looking for the most pertinent information re whatever I am looking for. Can't be bothered with all the wordy stuff - sometimes just need to get to the heart of the matter. If I find something pertinent then I'll usually read the whole article for context.

yeah, i do the skimming and flitting and getting the gist of too, but i realised that with that aside, i literally read bottom up on some things
I had to try and read some letters for my mum the other day and did exactly the same, just read it from end to start, infact, i kept trying to subconciously go to the top, but i would, get there, read a couple of words and then go back to where i had just got to anyway
its truly no wonder i avoid letters and such..... talk about sending myself doo-lally ;D

I do actually read alot of things upside down, I used to just mess about with it but the realised I'm better at reading upside down than right way!?! Have read this could be due to my dyslexia. Strange though..:. And wonder why this is!?!

My daughter's dyslexic and for a long time wrote perfectly formed (and spectacularly misspelt) words but upside down and/or mirror image. She would also start writing backwards from the right hand side of the page. All looked the same to her.

She would also start writing backwards from the right hand side of the page. All looked the same to her. I can do calligraphy in mirror image! It's easier to hold a right handed pen the correct way for the angle of calligraphy in my left hand doing it that way. Of absolutely no use but keeps me amused for hours at a time (usually when I get sidetracked from writing 'to-look-at-and-never-do' lists). Frequently I'll read threads from the bottom up - but then generally I glance at the last 50 posts and click on the interesting ones which are generally the latest posts and then go from there.

I start at the beginning of a checklist/set of criteria.
For some reason, I sometimes feel more comfortable starting from the bottom of the list and working upwards.
