We have dwelled on the negatives of ADHD for too long! I say we dwell know more! Who's with me?!? Freeedoooommmmm! Yeah... Any positives for having ADHD? Here's mine: 1. It's alphabetical position means it's easy to find in a list of other mental illnesses. 2. The creative aspect of ADHD is amazing. Not just in terms of art or music, but in the way we think. 3. We tend to be very loving people. 4. Were 300% more likely to start our own business. (static from the Internet, probably made up but it's believable) Sorry I've gotta go, my girlfriends pulled up. Were going bowling carry on adding anything you deem to be a positive! Peace!

one thing i absolutely LOVE is my resourcefulness.
If i want something doing, it WILL get done, if i need to build/fix something, even if i dont have the tools, i manage to do it.

Exactly! Mine would have been grrrit and determination. We're scrappers.
And, I think, we look after each other. A bit. Don't we? ;D

Yeah the resourcefulness! It's like being MacGyver.
If we have our head on straight we can do absolutely anything.
The ability to hyperfocus, completing tasks in less than half the time it should take.
The constant thirst for knowledge we all seem to posses.
How fun we are!

wow what a great thread ;D i totally agree with all that's been said particularly the thirst for knowledge and resourcefulness i cant think of anymore but since there has been a spell check isn't it amazing how many words you realise you don't spell correctly

I would say there are zones good zones where logic just flows! Answers are flowing and the ability to work things out or store information is immense when you are in the zones and not stumbling for words ect everything is beyond perfection! But these zones don't last long before you are in another zone and must face the reality of switching to a shitty zone so apathy is not a bad thing least you know where you are and you're feet are on the ground I don't know if anyone would agree with this it seems ADHD effects different people in different ways!

completing tasks in less than half the time it should take. not double the time? that's me lol i don't really know what to put in this thread. i guess you have to know a lot of ADHD'ers to make generalisations.

the ability to zone out of a conversation when its really boring (only possible for me when I am off Meds. lol )
My temperament (off meds) what I quiet like..
My strong head to pull something through what i put in my head.. e.g. if I want to change something or do something, even if people advise me against it.. I ll do it.. lol

What about being open minded? - I don't know if it's just the people who hang around on these boards or ADHDers generally, but most people here seem to be and that's definitely a positive in my book!

Yeah I'm pretty open minded. If your different... I'm ok with it! *thumbs up* Oh and because I'm a technicality freak... The half the time statement was referring to hyper-focus. "the ability to hyperfocus, completing tasks in half the time" It's a whole statement, not supposed to be broken down. Interesting activity + hyperfocus = not stopping until it's finished = done faster. Unless it's something like paying a bill, which is put off until the bailiff turns up. Lol <--- smilie face, so I don't look like a complete prick.

i truely envy this doing things in half the time i can't say i have this gift althought i have moments where i can focus and retain but if you can understand i live in windows i get dragged along rather have any control over things! when your impulsively tell people to fuck off, do drugs or go stealing would you say that was a positive atrabute to the hyper window? and forever getting so near to clearing debts then just blowing money on a whim

Hah, yeah I see what you mean - half a comment taken out of context! unfortunately, I haven't trained my body to keep up with my mind yet so I still never get anything done quickly! And don't worry, you don't look like a prick.... just a pedant ;D (Should I duck??)
