Are you really boastful? Would you lie and deceive to get to the top in life? Would you shit on you're fellow man/woman to get to a goal? Is this an AD(H)D trait? Or is this bipolar disorder or narisisstic traits? That is the subject on today's proboards

I come accross boastful but it stems from wanting people to like me.
When i was young my brother bullied me throughout all school by making people dislike me, i had to work extra hard to counteract this.
The result, looks like im big headed and boastful but its really not, im extremely modest person.

So you're saying you're putting on a front so to speak badwool No worries my brother used to give me beats and he's 5 years older I don't beat him now but I have put him on his arse to let him know that I could Lol With me people like me people hate me that's life innit! My brother I get on great with now but he annoys me more now more than when I was getting beatings off him when I was a nipper! he is just on the online games all the time and I don't like seeing him devoting his life to online gaming, probords is different in an educational context I have learnt so much! But the time I spend on here is nothing to the time he devotes to online gaming

gaming is the onlw way to make your life concerns and need for alternatives fade away.
It;s a great procrastination.

I posted a link somewhere's I can't think where now on this site that gaming brings on hyper focus and gaming addiction could be a sign of ADHD?

imagine the intense stimulation and er............attention.......needed for computer gaming?
That's what always confuses me. In the old days, I could play a game for 8 hours in zombie direct input to the brain mode, but If I needed to write a letter i would defer and defer it until it would be embarrasing to send a 1 year later letter to my uncle in australia..
I even had a pc......and email.......
The effective outcome seems that I don't seem to care or can't give enough time to make it look like I care.......
8 hours gaming 10 mins letter writing..... attention span? Novelty seeking was never a truer term..... Crave that intense mind occupation.
Such a disparity. I and many other peope are more re-active than pro-active.
Or maybe its the hands on approach.

No, phil Never started.
I barely know any of my mother's or father's family.
They are just ever fading shadows in my mind. The disconnect is epic. I can only deal with whats in my line of sight

I never bothered with my fathers side much I See them about my father walked out when I was 3 the last time I saw him was a few years back in his box! But I did know where he was living and thought do you know fuck him he never bothered with me! that say's it all! I was trying not to laugh at the old mans funeral the vicar or priest or what ever he's called was reading from the bible the lyrics to the byrds song turn! but I don't regret not knocking his door he could have made an effort!

Totally familiar to me..............
Identity issue? Who are, what are you, the sleeper muuuuust awaken :/
I feel that I am unforged and therefore uncomplete.
I'm e-procrastinating online, instead of getting the diagnosis of autism spectrum and therefore, hopefully, understanding that I should have.
I'm paralysed into an ever decreasing circle of a lifestyle.
I suppose this is more autism than adhd. At least most adhd have done a lot in their lives......

Identity issues - definately, but I'm starting to get to the point where I think 'who cares anyway?' I'm a conglomoration of a million different experiences, thoughts, feelings, influences etc etc - so is it really necessary to identify some single 'true' essence of who I am. Is this not a form of conceit in itself?
I dunno...?!
As for the boastful - no because my self esteem's too low, but my son with HFA is very boastful and can see no reason not to be. I think other kids might find it annoying - especially as it's often about things that they probably think aren't very impressive, but I guess it's preferable to low self-esteem. Tony Atwood says it's very common with Aspergers and suggested that for kids we should give em a 'boast book' and encourage them to write it all down instead of bragging to other kids. Don't know what the adult equivalent of a boast book would be....a boasty forum thread maybe???

"when in doubt, say nowt" lol Yes, I try to live up to this maxim, but find that what I actually do is this: 'when in doubt dig a huge hole hole for yourself by babbling inane shit, whilst people look on tutting and shaking their heads'
