Hi folks,
Me and son have adhd, we live in council housing in west sussex, this is really petty I know, but everytime my son forgets to put his bike in the shed (Ie when he's nipping upstairs for a drink) he leaves bike tucked in communal hallways (OMG CRIME OF CRIMES!) anyway we have a really fast curtain twitcher neighbour who runs out and takes photos of bike and sends pics to council, Im always getting letters lol, but anyway it's becoming really stressful for me and my sons becoming really upset because he can't help being forgetful, we can't leave anything outside because it will get vandalised or stolen.....is there any organisation that can help with disability law, human rights??

I have had more than my fair share of awful neighbours, and this person sounds like a right miserable pain in the a***. You can go to the citizens advice bureau - they advise on pretty much everything including housing and legal stuff, so it's a good place to start. Mediation is another option, but they sometimes charge. What's wrong with knocking on your door and asking politely to put the bike away??!!

I'm not in any way condoning your neighbour's behaviour, I hate people like that and have dealt with similar myself. But could you decrease the risk of it happening by giving your son a drink to take out with him? You can get those bottles that fit in a bracket attached to the bike frame, so he doesn't need to worry about carrying it.

Re, drink bottle...lol yes weve done all these things (he loses, breaks etc)...the neighbour in question is supposed to be a friend!! he's really aware of our diagnosis - also my son needs to come in for his heart tablet, I'm sure we'll sort it out one way or another, thanks for advice ;D

Hi again, the reason I'm so worried is that it can affect my tenancy, and it seems unfair as we really are not trying to pee anyone off.

Do you have a Housing Officer? I did when I was in council housing, and she was brilliant about the problems I was having with a nasty neighbour (we started proceedings for getting an ASBO against her, if I hadn't been buying a house and needing my energy for that, I would have followed it through)
