This is something i do loads. I know i do it, and i have done it forever......
Ages ago at work, a new ish guy asked me a question about a report and as a visual learner, i also visually explain with real time examples..... however..... I find that as I am explaining, my mind stops concentrating on talking through the explanation and literally trails off mid sentence, while i carry on working through the actual real time example
the guy had encountered this a couple of times and asked my colleague if i always did this.... while i was merrily off in my own little world, half hearing what he was saying.....
anyway, my boss asked me something last week and as i was explaining, obviously the same thing happened, i trailed off mid sentence and my brain had already moved to the next bit, cos my example had........
and he had to ask me "what?"..... cos it made no sense at all, it wouldnt would it, if someone always talked to me in half sentences, i wouldnt get what they were on about either.....
and i have realised it makes it very difficult for people to keep up with what i am saying, but i cant stop doing it, meds haven't helped this, i am still already on my next thought process before finishing my sentence... thus leaving it permanently unfinished.... unless, whoever i am talking to prompts me and i am literally jolted back and made to realise i have drifted off mid sentence again
and tbh, its not only because of trying to use visual examples, i do it generally anyway, but its just easier for me to try and explain it that way.........
anyone else do this?....
