The meet-up went well - it happened ;D The other ADDer and me both made it.
I got there first and laughed as I realised I probably looked a lemon sitting alongside the 'unusual object' - a large fresh pineapple. Felt remarkably like a failed fruit salad.
As anticipated no-one else turned up but I will go along on the 28th (two weeks' time) just in case. I won't give up but I will take a newspaper! I don't know if anyone else will be able to make it but I will definitely be there 7.30 - 9.00 this time.
It was very nice venue, certainly not a dive - friendly and quite busy through the back and in the garden, but the front rooms to left and right of the door were quieter. That is where I will be sitting - but probably/possibly not with a pineapple. I parked in Waitrose car park and ended up doing a bit of last minute late night shopping as I had used their car park! (bought a very nice washing up bowl and some baking bits)
You can walk through from their car park to Broad Street. There is a public car park I think near / behind the old Waitrose site but I can sort a out a map of some sort re parking and location of The Tavern and email that to anyone who'd like a hand with the practicalities of coming along to a meet-up.
To be honest I found things like thinking about where to park and how to get from the car park to the pub quite daunting / offputting - as this is all something outside of my comfort zone.

It's good to hear that there was more than one of you!
I've got my initial assessment next Tuesday, so I'll try and get along on the 28th. I know Wokingham quite well, and the council run car park (it's free after 6pm on Weekdays), however it's not very well lit and a single female on her own may feel a little uneasy. From that respect it's probably better in the Waitrose carpark.
I wouldn't call a lemon and pineapple a failed fruit salad, just a slightly unusual one!
If there is anybody coming from Reading, or along the route to Wokingham, drop me a PM as I'm happy to offer a lift.

Well, we are the original two! That is a very kind offer though to give someone a lift and hope you can make it on the 28th. Just going to google the car parking.
