Thought it might be time for a new thread as the old one is getting loooonng (and wandering). Also thought it might work better to change it to more positive, so instead of what I need to do lists, how about today I have....
Today I have phoned the student loan company, started de-cluttering, (just a teeny bit) ;D , put the dishwasher washing machine and tumble dryer on, walked the dog, put the rubbish in the wheelie bin, the recycling in t'other wheelie bin. Also yesterday I hoovered ;D does that count ;D

Hoovering would count in my house, big time! Also any decluttering, however tiny. It all counts.

I squeezed in 5 mins of decluttering in the kitchen - got rid of 'stuff' that shouldn't be in the kitchen in the first place - but this only came about because I couldn't find a letter I needed for today. Most of it was recycled or binned. Couldn't do more as had to leave for work.
are we allowed to reminisce on matters related to cleaning / decluttering or do we have to be very strict with ourselves and only limit it to 'have dones' - because I just remembered something.

Got the internet back!!! I also found the list thing really helpfull - so I might also be bunging up the thread up with the odd list I'm afraid! I've done bugger-alll since our internet died - it's like life has just ground to a halt It's been half term, so have not had to get up early, and doing half-termy things has been a great excuse to not do anything else whatsoever! Back to normal tomorrow though. I've gained 5 Ibs in the last 2 weeks, so need to stop stuffing my face and get back on my bike. Also must resume my studies and job-hunting. I've been doing both so half-heartedly it's shameful! Glad you're all still here - and a happy and productive week to you all

I've gained 5 Ibs in the last 2 weeks, so need to stop stuffing my face and get back on my bike. I'm coming to the end of a truly fabulous holiday - by about day 3 I was totally med-free and my self-restraint went out of the window. Although I've now managed to stop getting worked up about having to make complicated decisions like when to have dinner, I have also thrown caution to the winds and hit the bar and the breakfast buffet with wild abandon. As a result, I'm now feeling like a lightly-tanned and super-chilled Jabba the Hut ;D Back to the gym on Thursday!!

Yo Jabba Jabba! (I think you need to be around kids of cbeebies age to get this reference!) I bet you look gorgeous you bronzed beauty. Where ya bin? Odat, glad you're getting the pain under control. As for the food - tomorrow's a new week and my lazy/greedy eating habits will stop as of midnight tonight (now just the other half of that bag of Balti Mix, two more mince pies and 10 more chunks of choccie to polish off in the meantime.....) Anyway, because I'm so silly & came straight on here instead of checking my emails as soon as our internet was up & running, I failed to discover until after dinner that I've got a job interview on Friday! I'm so scared - haven't had one of those for a long time! What do I wear? What do I say? How many will be on the panel? How much can I bullshit face-to-face? Of course all this will be subject to my remembering to email them back that I actually wish to attend....which of course will take me about half an hour just deciding how to compose that one sentence! PANIC STATIONS!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

(Mauritius! Still there, too - but as a ginga Scot, who has to slap on factor 50, and whose forehead is already peeling as a result of day 1 scorchio, I can safely say that the words. 'bronzed' and 'beauty' are never gonna be used around me. 'Chubby' and 'lobster' more like...)
But ooo, ooo, ooooooo, interview! You must have applied for a job!! Excellent - they want to see you; that's a good start, no? What's the job? And how do interviews generally go for you? Will you get a chance to practice before Fri?

PANIC STATIONS!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Perhaps we can all chip in with some wording for your confirmation email if you haven't done it already. key thing is just to address to named person (whoever you have to reply to is usually best - don't do what i'v done in the past) Thank you for your invitation to interview on Friday blah blah at xyz time, at abc place; I look forward to meeting you (or whoever it is) then. Yours sincerely Dizzy Obviously not ideal wording but as an adhder I work better from something to start from even if it's pants. Mouse x

Hey thanks you guys! Chubby Lobster - The holiday sounds amazing - wish I was there! (but be grateful I'm not ;D!!) I'm more like a chubby Casper as I lag on the factor 50 all summer long like it's going out of fashion! I was just about to say what the job was, but then had a moment of paranoia and thought "what if someone on the panel just happens to stumble accross this forum".....I know.....the chances are probably pretty slim....but you never know! They might be an ADHDer - or have a kid who is.... Is this ridiculously paranoid? Just imagine if they read some of my other posts and learned the full extent of my numptiness ! I'll tell you after I've had the polite letting-me-down-gently call. I'd be fine if going for a job in the care/support sector - but have no idea what this interview is likely to entail, so it could be disastrous!! Mouse - if only I'd seen your post before I sent my curt single-line reply!! Why didn't I think to tell them I'd look forward to meeting them (maybe cos I'm not! ) Hey-ho, que sera sera & all that! At least it's made me pull my head out of my backside - I don't feel properly alive if I've nothing to get hysterical about! ;D Good luck with the all-nighter Odat - med break at the weekend next time perhaps?

Hi Dizzy To be honest they'll be more interested in the fact that you have responded in the affirmative!! Highly unlikely that they will judge you on what you think is a curt reply.. more probably be glad as some people go all daft when writing responses! Do PM if you'd like a second opinion on what sort of things they might be interested in questions they might ask! And if they were to be trawling on here due to an interest in adhd they're more likely not less likely to be on your side! "I don't feel properly alive if I've nothing to get hysterical about!" So true!!

A single line reply was all that was needed! 'thanks - yes, I'll be there' is all they wanted to hear. The quality of your reply was not part of the assessment!
We're all a little paranoid about being watched here.- why do you think we use forum names? But Mouse is right - I'm a manager, and I'm recruiting right now, and it wouldn't occur to me to troll round the Internet looking for fora where somebody I hadn't met yet and who was using a fake name might have admitted having a mental health problem. It would be a hell of a long shot - and I wouldn't dare guess that someone i was interviewing was actually oooshiny! or dizzydumpling in case I was wrong!! So while I'm not poopooing your fear, I hope you will relax a bit now.
And I second what Mouse said - pm if you want to kick thoughts about pre-interview.

I would appreciate a thread about interviews... These days it all seems to be "tell us about an occasion where you handled a difficult situation within your team" and stuff like that, not "tell us why you're so fab and why we should hire you"
p.s. Second the paranoia comment, my secondary facebook account is under a fake name, and only 3 people on here know my real name, because they've posted/are going to post me something. Lol...

Thank you all - might well take one or two of you up on offers of advice - and yes, an interview thread sounds like a great idea seahorse. If I can find time I might start one up if you don't first. I'm probably going to be using all my spare time to read up on the subjects I claimed to know about in my job application between now and Friday - as well of course as obsessing on what the hell to wear I reckon you must all think I'm paranoid as hell now.....it wasn't that I imagined anyone would be trawling the internet to spy on interviewees - just that I live in a bit of a backwater where everybody knows everybody else, and if someone happened to stumble across my posts where I'm sure I've mentioned my home town, they might put 2 and 2 together. I know the odds are bloody slim.....but then me & bad luck do seem to have a cosy relationship! Today, I have done lots of boring housework , procrastinated on here for too long , and am now going to check out the whereabouts of this place for Friday - do a dummy run - as I hear that parking is nigh on impossible in that town and I haven't a clue where the building is. Thanks again xxx

Dizzy - you don't sound paranoid though what makes you think that we think you are? Sorry just playing with you. No harm in protecting yourself. Today I have bought a SAD light because I have to get out of this funk. I've got a Lumie lamp to help with the waking up process. Thinking about getting a SAD light too. We used to have one in our office and people took turns to use it!

Cheers Odat & Hazy!
I read an article by someone with SAD who said that they sit in front of one for an hour in the morning and it works a treat for them, but don't know anyone personally who uses one. I can imagine it would be good though - many years ago - before I knew about skin cancer- I used to use a sunbed and that used to improve my mood no end in the winter!

Well, I thought here would be a good place to celebrate that today I was told I'm now on a permanent contract at work, i.e. they're not going to fire me any time soon, which is good! But coming on this board to write that reminded me that the bit of paper confirming this is currently sitting in Tesco in a place where I would see it and therefore NOT FORGET TO TAKE IT HOME WITH ME. Oh well, a minor drawback!

Thanks Audrey, and congrats to you Lille! (I have safe places too where I pop things for safe-keeping, but I swear they move themselves around as soon as my back is turned ) Hope appt goes well on Monday Odat - just don't put your notes in a safe place, or you'll never see them again! I'll be interested to hear how the lamp works out. I've thought about trying one, but have a feeling I'd never find time to use it at the start of the day. I wonder if it's beneficial when used in the evening or whether you need to use it first thing to set you up for the day? Just thought I'd tell you that the interview went pretty well (all things considered ;D)! Four times I forgot the question I was answering part way through, and had to ask them to repeat it again, but I'm hoping they'll put that down to interview nerves. Apart from that, I reckon I answered about 8 questions well, and the other couple not quite so well - but overall, it seemed encouraging. I'm not going to be disappointed with myself if I don't get it, as I know I gave it my best shot , and it will just mean that there was someone else with more experience - or (perish the thought) an even more magnetic personality ;D! Thanks so much Mouse & Shiny for giving me that extra bit of confidence last night! Gonna C-H-I-L-L tomorrow after all my hysterics over the last few days Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

Interesting thread. I kept a rather dispiritingly long task list in Google Calendar. Inevitably some things have been on there for years and it ended up looking more like The List Of Failure. Since I started on the MPH 7 weeks ago I have been trying to catch up on the back log. I am now able to see that there is a lot of stuff that should be on that list like cleaning the house, laundry, tidying up etc :-). I am amazed that I am now able to prioritise and actually do some of that boring stuff. With the time I have left over I am slowly getting through the back log.

Been getting stuff done, just not my own stuff - so not sure that counts. My sister's estate agent rang to say someone wanted to view today -which caught her unawares - tho' why I'm not sure. I ended up at her house doing the very things I should have been doing at home.
Collected tiles. At least our bathroom will look presentable when the time comes. Fireworks tonight.
Odat - glad tohear you're making progress with the MPH .
