Bit of a random one but I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or opinions on fictional characters that if not blatantly ADHD/ASD but are either obviously or show a lot of symptoms.
I am not talking slam-dunk rainman things where it's part of the story but more the idea that characters are usually based on real people or real situations.
The best case is Sheldon (patron saint of ASD) Cooper, who couldn't be more aspie and yet is one of the greatest modern heroes:)
But there's lots of other oddballs out there, personally I think the grown up wizkid character played by William H Macey in the movie Magnolia is a beautiful example of undisclosed suffering.
And of course the Gregory House MD. any other ideas?

I don't know why ASD is so often associated with ADHD. We're different, but that doesn't mean we can't empathise.
Anyway, surely Sherlock Holmes was an aspie?

Holmes quite possibly, driven, drug addicted and not a great people person but able to make intuitive leaps.

It is intimated that Holmes is an aspie.

Interesting... Staying with the medical theme I would add Lenny the Scottish doc off casualty, interpersonal issues, impulsive and brash and John (j.d.) Dorian a la scrubs.

There was a scene in the Sherlock Holmes film a few years ago where he is overwhelmed by the noise and things, I thought it was amazingly realistic.
One of the characters in fast and furious had adhd from Wikipedia;
Jesse Jesse is a street racer and the brains of Dominic's operations. Jesse admits to having Attention Deficit Disorder and is shown often stuttering in his speeches and very nervous. Despite this setback, he is the computer nerd of the group as he is responsible for creating the designs, doing background checks on people, and hacking the engine characteristics of Toretto's race vehicles with precise calculations (a characteristic of those of ADD as they usually have high IQs). He is somewhat irresponsible as he later raced Johnny Tran for pink slips against the wishes of O'Conner who warned him that Tran had over $100,000 under the hood of his vehicle. This proved to be true as Jesse lost to Tran, later driving off and escaping his loss. An enraged Tran and his accomplice later pull a drive by at Toretto's house missing everyone except Jesse who is killed in the shooting. Jesse is portrayed by Chad Lindberg.

No idea. It's a while since I saw the film but its about right as far as I remember. He certainly portrayed hyper focus when it came to cars, and impulsive behaviour.
Back to the big bang theory, my favourite. Anyone else think that maybe Penny has a mild case of adhd in a way that is so often missed in females? I have my reasoning, but I wonder what other people think?

Hmmm I dunno she just comes across as ditzy blonde to me, I think all of the male characters are mildly ADHD/ASD tho, it's what makes the character interactions more charming and funny. I know on the few occasions I have talked to a fellow adder we can communicate on a level others find amusing. We think alike.
Btw max out of happy endings sooooo adhd

Yeah, I fit ditzy but I'm not blond. Seriously, women with adhd symptoms get this kind of response a lot and its led to underdiagnosis in women. Anyway, Penny, never pays her cable bill, spends money on stuff she shouldn't, never has basic food in her fridge, ignores her check engine light on the car despite Sheldon nagging her, under achieved educational, her flat is so untidy Sheldon broke in to tidy up.

Trying to inject some new life into this thread...
It's common knowledge that Bart Simpson has ADHD and there are episodes attached, but what about Homer? Impulsive, emotionally immature and often irrational, doesn't think things through, disruptive, alcohol issues, mild learning disability (comorbidity), yet shows occasional moments of brilliance, intuitive and lateral thinking. In the surface he is apparently brash and selfish but does show a caring nature and selflessness. Hmmm I think I need to change my name (but I have more hair) . Seriously tho I don't think he could have any more symptoms lol

Chloe, the sidekick from the Film 'God Bless America' has ADD. Interestingly, she's very bright and sassy. Sort of a good and bad advert.
