Its 19:53. ive had the day of work to revise for an exam. but ive done nothing ! How can i have possibly found time to do nothing
.....wel i say nothing. i managed to fill in a form for some tips and advice on job hunting - saw an email for some workshops next month ....which took me hours to complete as i kept going back to it every time i accidently clicked on the tab on my browser. its like i see something and im compelled to rush and do it !
i also managed to read a 100page book about adhd " hiding an elephant.." made me shed a few tears. as soon as i saw it come through the post box i knew it would be difficult for me to put it down. Excellent book btw ..Still not the point ...everytime i have to do something i find something else to do. it actually makes me so angry and frustrated with myself. my brain hates me and i actually hate it also! i feel sick with worry that i will be putting my body through hel to get through my exam which is Friday !!!
has anybody got any motivational tips to get me off here (been on here for a few hours today also !) and onto my really imprtant task. i dont have medication as i have been procrastinating a diagnosis for about 4 months, knowing i could have adhd for about a year, so im going to have to fight it out with myself and any tips you guys have for me !

it's difficult. when i had exams i would read for a bit then do some tidying up, read a bit more, then wash up etc. break it up with other things. make sure they involve getting up from the desk though then when you finish (or get bored with) them you can just sit down. in other words make sure that the only thing you do at your desk is studying and everytime you get distracted it is something away from your desk. DO NOT WATCH TV OR PUT THE STEREO ON. Good luck

See if you can find a kind of white noise that works for you in helping you relax. I tend to find that a complete lack of stimulation outside of reading/study means I get bored too quickly to get things done. With the right white noise, there's enough to keep my brain running without having anything too distracting. Heavy rain/thunder works very well for me, particularly rainymood.com - technically "brown noise"

I go on a dance forum and it gets all sorts of questions in the anonymous bit - someone was asking for ideas to help with studying and linked to it! That's when I discovered how well it works for me, but there are all sorts of different things like traffic, fans etc.
