Yes, I know that not everyone gets tested really thoroughly and that the severity is relative, but are there any people who think they have like severe or very severe ADHD (let's say, worse than most ADHDers you know personally)?
If so, how do you feel, compared to other ADHDers?

I'm pretty sure mine is disabling in absolutely every situation. Yes, it helps when I'm communicating with relatives, people who take me as I am pretty much, but even then it affects me negatively.
I know that people with severe ADHD may be too distracted sometimes to reply something. But please try, if you are here.

does it matter, if its affecting your life negatively , its affecting your life negatively, lets not turn it into a competition, in fighting over severity isnt doing anyone any good, i saw your posts on my thread earlier, dont tell us ADD/ADHD ers, tell the world, we already know, its the outside world that needs to hear how bad things are for us, no offence meant, severity is a matter of perspective, and we all have our own,

Mine is severe, but you've already insinuated that you think I'm talking bollocks about that, so I expect my answer is irrelevant to whatever point you're trying to prove this time.

But you do want to argue - clearly you do, if you want to go round telling people your ADHD must be more severe because you take medication. It's all you've gone on about since you joined.

I think it's not quite so simple as that. If you express an opinion, then that's great - everyone has an opinion. It's when you start posting opinion as fact - it winds a lot of people up on here.
I read a lot of your tumblr blog one night when I had nothing to do (I lost track of time). It tells me a lot about you. It is full of your personal opinions posing as fact, and your frustrations at others that do not agree with your experiences of ADHD.
I don't really know what else to say, except that people on this board are generally a nice bunch, you might see that if you stop trying to wind them up.

Sometimes an opinion IS a fact (I hope you will agree), or a fact is a fact (the truth, not a mere opinion). Sometimes it winds up a lot of people. That's life. I am working on ways to explain/prove my opinions better. It could be done a lot more convincingly. I will try.

I agree that sometimes an opinion is a fact. It might be better to work on ways to explain your opinions, without trying to prove them as facts when some of them clearly are not. I know you say that you don't care about anybody that is different from you, but as yet it is still illegal to clone yourself (my poor attempt at humour)

Opinion is not fact, or it would be a fact not an opinion. Apples are not oranges or something. Anyway, you can express yourself freely, but equally others can express their disagreement with your point of view. I know what my adhd is like, you know what yours is like, it may or may not be the same, it may or may not seem the same. One person may be able to cope with something, another may not. It doesn't matter, we are all in this together one way or another, time for a group hug

[gets on soapbox] The site also has legal obligations.
These opinions are being expressed in the real world and we have to protect this resource of ours and the people who use it.
Words like libel and respect (bullying/abuse) may seem harsh but we, as a group with a mental disorder, have more difficulties than most expressing ourselves without crossing lines, which need maintaining. [gets off soapbox]

I'm all for group hug. :-)
I don't need anyone's permission to be sure of something.

No, it is a fact that you do not. And we are in my opinion) fortunate enough to live in a liberal society that allows people to express a very broad range of opinions. Interestingly, too, you don't need permission to be right about something. That is determined by objective tests. Which, I think, illustrates the fact (oo, see what I did there?) that 'opinion' and 'fact' are not, by definition, the same (sorry, jb - they're not). A fact is something that can be proven; an opinion, however well-supported in fact it may be, remains a statement of belief held by an individual and as such, cannot be proven. The lovely Auntie Beeb has a helpful factsheet on this one. Or perhaps I should say, the BBC, which in my opinion is lovely, has a factsheet that is, in my opinion, helpful... www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/factsheet/en06opin-e3-f-fact-or-opinion

I was meaning that you can have an opinion that is also a fact (as your opinion has not been proved to your knowledge - but has been proved elsewhere). Does that make better sense?

i appologise about the above comment, because mine is getting more severe day by day, so stay up and complain about it all you want, its ok by me, because if i had the psych in this room right now id be kicking the shit out of them, im effin fuming, these bastards happy to let people suffer, day after day knowing medication can help and doing nothing to help them, i have love compassion and would help anyone in need, and these bastards are considered normal, well the gloves are off now, its war no prisoners, ive have now officially had enough of this shit!!!! how severe is that!!!

For the literature reporting of severity depends on who you ask self, teacher, spouse, doctor etc.
I think I was assessed on the Conners’ Adult ADHD Rating Scale (CAARS) but I have absolutely no idea the actual value. The Nice guidelines use something called Clinical Global Impression Scale .
Maybe we could agree on a metric before we argue who's big is bigger than someone else's big?

Never had mine tested, tried though but it (My ADHD) got in the way and i didn't get around to going. Nor do i know anyone else with it. I suffer alone. (How dramatic! XD )
Severity is a matter of perspective, and from where i'm sitting; it seems like i have it in the worst way possible.
I guess i'll see what Medical Science says. if i actually go to the appointment this time that is.
