I tend to not bother at weekends, and I don't always remember my later in the day dose. It doesn't bother me to be on it for life, as long as it works.

Weekends I frequently reduce the dosage and frequency - that mostly means I miss the morning completely and half dose the rest of the day.
Several times a year I have a 'holiday' which lasts from three days to three weeks - usually until I hit a blip and start being unreasonable so I try to time then when I know things are going to be easy going.

I go down to a very light dose or nothing at the weekends, unless I have to drive or be even-tempered. I'm due to be working in SA next week and it occurs to me I haven't made any arrangements to take my meds...could be interesting. Wonder if I'll make the flight home...

I don't think there's any stories about missing flights on the 'You know you have ADHD' thread ... YET Bizarrely, my first psych found it very significant (as an indicator that I couldn't possibly have ADHD) that I had never missed a flight. Even when I told him about the time the stewardess had held the airplane door open long enough for me to tun on board, and brought me a glass of water because I was wheezing so hard...from running across the airport...or the time I ran from the cab, through check-in, up the escalators, shoved my way through the security queue shouting 'I'm going to miss my flight' and continued running to the gate at London City (it's a pleasingly small airport) to scrape through as the stewardess once again started closing the door...or the time I almost missed the plane at Paris because I didn't realise my connection involved getting to a completely different airport...

Never have an ADHD party at weekends - there'd be nobody there

I flip on and off them often not good! I either forget...or think i dont need them..or get fed up of side effects. I suppose going on and off them is not that good for you? I would say they slowly increase to max dose for a reason. I would imagine its not that good for the heart doing on/off...

I will be starting meds in a couple of weeks and if it were not for this post I would not have realised to lessen the dose at the weekends.

You really don't need to at all.
It can be fun to have no meds (I'm more 'sparky') and you can have a drinky (not something you should do much of if medicated).
But for the first year I wouldn't have a break unless you're going out for a drink.

Lol I have a lot to learn. I don't drink so that won't be a problem.
