Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can get help with my finances and paperwork? We're well behind on rent. Have been taken to court over council tax and still not filled in form they want. Am late applying for my daughters school place, which only realised day before yesterday. Seriously skint and cannot work out who to pay and who not too Son has medical probs and loads of appointments I often miss, although have been known to arrive 23 1/2 hrs early That's just the beginning and I seem to get now where with any of it. The harder I try the worse it gets and I swear the more random my head gets e.g. Oooshiny! What's going on there I spend more of my day thinking ooh that person must have a head like me cause I'm a total magpie, if it sparkles/shines and I can get my hands on it, before u know it it's added to a pile of randoms and now every time I see something, all the time cause like I said I squirrel them, I think ooo shiney then shoot off on one about truly random stuff like could u actually call a kid that. ( don't worry I'm not having any more), anyway by then I'm gone, well into my own world and nothing's done! I really hope when I get my meds I don't do this anymore, but till then, is there anywhere I can get some help with all the paperwork and appointments. Am really worried we're going to loose the house and my partner works all the hours god sends for jack and is bad with paperwork too.

The Citizen's Advice Bureau are great at helping you with most things, and will often be able to point you in the right direction if they can't. As I'm begining to realise, you also have to try and help yourself! I've bought several calenders/planners for different time spans. Day to day, week to week and month by month and am told that there are apps available to help plan and remind you of stuff if you're tecnically minded and can work out how to do it. Essentially, I'm told that you have to choose a system , but more importantly to stick to it. It's a bloody nightmare, but apparently does get easier with practice. Good luck.

Thank you both for replying so quickly.
Will leave notes everywhere to call citizens advice bureau in morn.
That idea for having different planners for different time periods sounds like a good one to try, would make my single planner a lot less bamboozling.

Have you got enough money to pay the bills? If so, direct debit your bills.
If not, take a Saturday afternoon and set yourself a target of getting to the bottom of where you're over-spending. Get into digging out the paperwork, tip yourself into hyperfocus on the question - 'where is my money going?' and try to work out where it goes and where you can make savings.
Once you've got the info in front of you, you can head for CAB and get some help if you have problematic creditors.
Good luck!

I will agree with shiny, direct debit everything you can... We were in a similar situation a couple of yrs back and it's a nightmare! Getting onto meds did help me most certainly but I found the best way to deal with it (although it was hard) was getting on the phone and talking to ppl .... If you have debts, some companies can be understanding if you explain that it's not that you don't want to pay but the ADHD side means that things get mixed up and you forget/hide from it all. Some wont wanna listen but at least you have tried. Next step is to set minimum amounts on each (prioritise) and don't pressure yourself to pay large amounts if not required until you have got everything manageable. Then you can start to increase whatever you need to or can do. The best thing I did was talk to them all and of course direct debit them! CAB can help but I did feel like they were treating as though I was thick and really didn't get the ADHD thing ... I kept wanting to say "yes I can add up" Good luck with it x

Called cab yesterday spoke to national debt line or something, they were really helpful and luckily non patronising, cause I was not feeling particularly forgiving at the time and was in the perfect mood for shooting myself in the foot.
Will do a list of all people I need to call this wkend, then start purgatory on mon :-(. Why does the stuff that makes sense always seem more pain than pleasure? It's just like food and drink, all the really good stuffs bad for u!
I've got the bills direct debited but no money in account.
Need to make a list of children related phone calls as well.
Debt helpline agreed that bar changing car insurance to third party, there wasn't a lot we could cut down on, so some people might have to wait till, my partner has a better job or my youngest is in school and I can work.
Thanks for all the advise. Am going to eat chocolate after every phone no crossed off the list. You know, just to keep the pleasure pain thing more in harmony :-)

Ran out of chocolate, lost my list and ended up with three extra very unsettled children ( understatement ), children and my sister on a bipolar mission.
Before that I did make a start though, have an appt with my eldests school next week and am hopefully getting him to my GP tomorrow to discuss getting him assessed for add, because when I spoke to his head of year she said I'd have to go through the GP because they don't know enough about it and the assessment process, even though last year before i knew about add, she knew enough to assure me there was nothing wrong other than his lack of effort, his lack of care resulting in chronic disorganisation and hisnrefusal to pay attention. Nothing like grammar school pastoral care.
I also went through with our housing association what we were trying to do to make up the rent and they were really nice. I'm sure I did a couple of other bits but can't remember what/who they were.
Anyway as have lost the original I'm going to have to do another tomorrow but at least it will be shorter and I've got some of the scarier ones out of the way.
Have downloaded proboards app but I can't get this site up? It says ask an administrator why. Any idea which administrator I ask?
Thanks again for the advise, I really appreciate it and it all helped.

If you start again by reinstalling, and when you search for the board, just go straight to inputting the website name. If you just type in aadduk there will be 2 options underneath, select the top one which should just say aadduk with the proboards net address after it. You should be able to log in using your current details. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid you might have to consult Google :S
Glad you're getting some stuff done though! Xxx
