Hi, I have my appointment next week and in preparation I have been trying to retrieve my old school reports. I have been successful with the school where I went to 6th form but I am awaiting the reports from my high school (looking unlikely as it dates from 2002-2007).
I began 6th form when I was 16 and left at 18. The first report (months after I joined the school) states that I have a short attention span which is a consistent problem, does not pay attention, disruptive, needs to focus etc. The other 3 reports are more or less the same and all the teachers say a similar thing. I have also had it confirmed in email that I was on a lesson-by-lesson behaviour report.
In the likely event that I do not get my high school reports, do you think this is sufficient?

Hi, I still don't know a huge amount about it but mine went just by my mothers recollections of those wonderful days when the end of term resulted in a lack of appreciation for my finer talents , and not everyone with a diagnosis has managed to get hold of their school reports, so I'd have thought they'd be happy with what you've got?

Thanks for your reply li0nberries. Yes I hope it will be enough too, I'm waiting to hear back from my high school.

I only have my primary school reports from the 1970s and they're all about how easily distracted I was. If you were at high school that recently I would have thought you could contact them directly and ask, I expect a lot of the teachers would remember you (especially if you were disruptive). and would be able to write something in support.

Can only speak of my own experience, I couldn't get hold of any reports. I had my partner with me at the assessment, but she didn't know me as a child.
I'd sketched out some notes before hand, recollections of things I thought might be adhd related as a child - mostly attention to detail and focus stuff, as I'm PI and never really showed any real signs of hyperactivity.
This and my general history seemed to work fine, whilst the assessment went on for some time and felt fairly comprehensive. About ten minutes in it didn't seem like there was any doubt.

You'd think it would be, but it seems they haven't stored them. I don't blame them as thousands of students pass through and to keep each every single record wouldn't be feasible. The clinic suggested that I ask my family members to write a little bit about me and my development, I am in the process of doing this now. Thank you for the help.
