27 things off to charity and 27 about to be binned :-). 2 points for me today ;D I am less plagued today, but haven't tempted food yet How about we all get together the 27 charity things a day and have to drop them off at least 1 in every 7 days cause janev is getting the raw deal here anyway as I only have to put them in someone else's car to drop at charity shop? R u both happy with points being: Janev ( the hare ) 10 points Kathymel 9 points ( you can thank me later for being so generous, obviously still ill, ) Lionberries aka me 8 pox ridden points ( after I've put out this bin ) Thanks for being such a lairy competitor janev. I would definately have given up after the last couple of days if it hadn't been for your goading and that actually isn't sarcasm xxx

In the spirit of humility i'l turn my ten points into pounds and donate it to red nose day bye for now xx (one each)

Glad to hear you're feeling a tad better, LB. Hope you can face food soon. Not sure why you've given me 9 points, thought you were a stickler for the rules ;D
Once I'd got started, I had to make myself stop or I figured I'd be making it more difficult for the future.
Looking forward to doing it again tomorrow.

Well, I got off to a good start this morning. The software (Leechblock) that Barryadder recommended is ace and I only have a few minutes a day to go on the sites that I've blocked. This meant I was in the garden weeding before 8 this morning!
Got slightly sidetracked when I realised I'd been scammed by a website who have removed an unauthorised subscription from my account. Had to contact website, bank, warn other students, Student's Union and so on. (It was a research site - Highbeam.)
Now I'm going to get back on track and go and do my daily purge of stuff.
Janev, I don't watch TV so I've no idea who Stella is. I can picture the woman you're describing, though. I occasionally tie all my plastic recycling all over my bike and ride up to the recycling bins. I don't tend to swear at people much as I'm going though, just the dog if he gets in the way.

Done it. Binned 27 charitied 27.
Did u get there Kathy m?
Janev it is solely your smugness that is keeping me at this! And while I'm on that subject, how is your bedroom/demented utility room? ;D

I did it! Didn't quite make it to the charity shop or the recycling bins, so my car is stuffed, but I did find 27 of each.
Very proud of myself for tackling the coat rack, which is where I got most of my 27 charity items from. I have had things on there for 10 years that I bought on ebay, never wore, and hadn't got round to re-selling yet. Hurrah! I can see the hooks, now! Can't quite bring myself to throw away any shoes, yet ...
Back on the boat now so not going to be able to find 27 of each for a few days. Will have a good rummage, though.
How are you feeling today, LB?

Perhaps we should make you a certificate, Janev - 'For Services to De-cluttering'.
Well, I tried to do this on the boat today, but as there's not much on it, I didn't manage the full quota. Got 16 things thrown out and 8 to charity. That's me out of the running for the next 3 days, now. There's nothing left to chuck!
Haven't seen a TV, Janev. Did Wales win?

Lost count on the binning but only 7 on the give away. Trouble is, although I think my draw full of sparkly things and random selection of shells/stones/whatever else has appealed to me, they seem to have no value to anyone else? Yes, sadly janev you have kicked our arses and with a infection. You can have the business card but the crown is not yours yet . Kathymel, having a boat is cheating! My friend has a boat and I can't fit what I need for a night on it! Plus it's sooo serene I am sure you don't actually need "stuff" after a few days. I am very, very jealous and think you should charity the boat to me, so you can make up some of your points. And don't worry no thanks needed, I'm just naturally good like that X Here goes the hard bit WELL DONE JANEV ( lots of puking dying noises ). xxx

aaaah but it wont be long ;D trouble is the dilemma every day then - crown or halo? my shells will be going in the bin today, did shiny stones few days ago, but i'l give you a chance - am having a lie in (am *uckin exhausted with all this truth be told - its emotionally draining ) kathymel - maybe the 3 of us should sail around the place offering our services (to de-clutter!) L.B. - sounds like its time to get on hubbies case coffee calling - back later xx

Hope you're feeling better soon, Janev. Well done for carrying on in the face of illness. That certificate may have to be a gold-edged scroll, now. Got something caught in your throat, Lb? ;D I'm usually on the boat for 3 days a week when I'm at uni. Eventually I think I'll move onto it full time, but for now there's not much stuff on it. When I do move, there's going to have to be one hell of a throw out! That's one reason I'm doing this now; I need to learn to be ruthless. On the other hand, if I give you the boat, Lb, I won't need to downsize. Why didn't I think of that? Might not fit in the car with all the other stuff that's in there, though. ;D I have a pretty stone collection, too. There's a beach near me where all kinds of fabulously coloured stones fall out of the clay cliffs. I have about 20 baskets of them - can't bring myself to throw them yet, though! I don't think anyone else would appreciate my collection of broken fishing floats and other beachy treasures, either. Spending the day at the uni library, today. What thrills!

Oooh I do like your idea of going round other people's places throwing stuff away, it's so easy knowing what everyone else should loose :-). Sharing kathymels boat to do its just icing on the cake. It'll be worth it when you've got your qualifications km. Got to say am always impressed at how you fight so hard for this ( your degree, ur not that great a dom god ) Seriously. DO REST janev. Well, that's a totally different matter ... Seriously. DO REST janev. Hope the antibiotics kick in quickly xxx Ignore her, Janev, she's just trying to catch up to you.

P.S. Now am gonna rest (comfortable in my smugness) as all week have been beating myself up, thinking god i'm so lazy, useless, disorganised, old ,weak , etc (the way we do) cos didn't accept that I was ill! so hopefully lesson learned there as well as (nearly) clutter free house

Sorry didn't get back yesterday, couldn't think of a way to write the following that wasn't an essay. In my head I thought we were taking it in turns to steal thoughts from fly lady and add them to the challenge each week, but as we're all at different places, it seems to make sense to carry on with the 27/27 and those that can't/won't (ahem baskets of stones ), do the zone week thing and a couple off the detailed cleaning list instead? I'll copy and paste them here to make life easier (as long as I remember ). First one Your mission for today should you choose to accept it: Scrub down your counter tops, I don't mean to just wipe a rag across them! I mean you get some hot soapy water and you wipe down the counters from front to back and side to side. Yes, you have to move the stuff on the counters to do this. DON'T take everything off at one time and then plan to put it all back again, I promise you will get sidetracked and then you will all email me crying that it is all my fault!! LOL! You just move your toaster (or coffee pot or whatever this is an example here! :>) ) over to one side and wipe down the counter, then move over a foot or so, move aside what is there and wipe down some more and so on. We are not marathon cleaning the kitchen here, just getting all the crumbs and junk that seems to build up behind and under things.

oh my god - you are joking yeah!? binning and giving away is one thing but that! (above) - --- think I should tell the world - I don't think describing myself as 'domestic godess' is exactly accurate !! Maybe Dame of de-cluttering? now am starting to feel better and getting back to normal as the meds kicking in realise have been in complete world of my own the past week. do you know what i mean - like completely living in my head. the infection really dragged me down and now realise that was quite unwell for few weeks really was so knackered all the time and found just putting one foot in front of the other really hard work. consequence of that - instead of going to doctors - constantly beating myself up thinking am useless pathetic lazy etc - this has been my constant internal dialogue! thought it was my s.a.d. getting worse as week was so dark BUT completely focuded on the 27/27 like nothing else in the world mattered! ;D consequently - although got rid of loads junk and things : havn't washed a dish all week - so everything is dirty strewn all around my kitchen (had to get take away sunday night and eat it out of plastic container with plastic fork that came with it! and re heat what was left yesterday. Havn't done ANY laundry - don't have one single item of clean clothing left - piles of laundry, dirty towels every where! (darling daughter not happy) Havn't sorted paperwork stuff - god knows what i've forgot i'm supposed to be doing/going/paying!! Also as was ill my mind slowed down a lot - its back to buzzing all over the place again now! If health and safety came around they would close me down!! so thats my confession though thinking about it your challenge could be helpful - Lets see what i can do ;D

Well it is day 2 in the Kitchen, are you ready?
Today we are going to de-clutter our leftover, food storage, plastic, Rubbermaid, Tupperware, Glad-Ware, etc. containers! Do you have excess lids? More bowls than lids? Stained and/or Melted? Do we even need to talk about those old margarine, ice cream and sherbet containers?
It is time to let go of this clutter. I am not telling you that you can't keep any containers, I am telling you to get rid of the ones that have no lids, stained and the ones that keep getting shoved in the back because it just isn't a size that works for you.
I don't know what a reasonable number of containers to own is, that is a personal choice that has to be made on how you cook, store and the size of your family. I just know that if you haven't de-cluttered these items in the past 6 months it is time to really go through them and start tossing!
A quick hint that is helpful, take a large zip top plastic bag to store the lids in, this keeps them together and keeps them from spilling all over the inside of your cabinet.
Spend 10 minutes doing this, don't get sidetracked and rip apart your

Your next few days are going to be a breeze on our boat kathymel Janev? Your not supposed to be doing the kitchen cause you've still got decluttering to do? You still get 1 pt for 27 binned and 27 charitied. Your not supposed to do anything else until you can't find 27 27 xxx seriously bin all the plates cups etc and get a set of 4 new ones that way they can't mount up that much and tell your daughter not to worry cause she is now at an age where you trust her to wash up a dish if she needs one ;D. Maybe just until you've done the decluttering, she can be in charge of her washing? She's going to have to learn to do it soon adhd or not. And if its a temporary thing while you declutter, maybe it won't seem like such a big thing to her? Even if it does she's going to feel better with more space at home long term anyway, so what you're doing is for both of you. Big hug, today start decluttering your living room. And where's your exercise bike and the appliances that were in your bedroom? xxx

A also have a few places left to de-clutter. I haven't opened the door to The-Place-Where-Useful-Things-Go-To-Die yet - the cupboard under the stairs! Then there's a couple of hundred videos-that-I-might-watch-again ... x
